The SMART Recovery USA leadership, staff, and many volunteers are working diligently to quickly move Face-to-Face meetings to an online platform via Zoom for those who make the request. We appreciate your patience during this time.
Several items of note:
- SMART is looking into emergency funding from multiple sources to help defray the Zoom licensing cost. Facilitators do not have to cover these expenses from their own pocket.
- Requests from Face-to-Face facilitators to obtain SMART Zoom licenses are being processed by SMART's National Office within 24 hours of receiving them. Requests for licenses can be made at importantnews@smartrecovery.org.
- SMART Recovery volunteers are temporarily providing online training for new Zoom facilitators every Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, as necessary. Additional details will be provided directly to facilitators once their SMART Zoom license has been requested.
- Once a SMART Zoom license has been approved, Face-to-Face facilitators may communicate directly with their meeting participants to share the online access codes if they have their meeting participants' contact information.
- To protect the privacy of our participants, we request that SMART Zoom licenses be used for SMART Recovery online meetings only.
- You and your participants do not need to be members of SROL to attend these meetings; exceptions are being made for the local/online meetings.
In addition to moving local meetings online, please remember that we offer 40+ weekly online meetings at SROL, with additional support available through our 24/7 discussion boards. SROL is free to join; but registration is required to participate. SROL is a great resource to provide to your meeting participants during this time. Here are links to learn more:
