I teach the first step before learning animal healing in any form is starting with you, your pet's parent/guardian/caretaker, with managing your energy.
I recently had a client who was unsettled and almost panicky as there was an alarm going off in their building that wouldn't stop and her dog, Roxy, was cowering behind the toilet in the bathroom. Roxy's guardian was very concerned since Roxy has a history of being triggered into fearful, shaking, and unsettledness with alarms. She reached out to me in an emergency to support Roxy calming as there was no indication when the alarm would get fixed and turn off. And she wanted to know how to best support Roxy.
I connected and communicated with Roxy, got her settled, and her energy balanced. Roxy said she was ok, and she'd like to stay behind the toilet.
I could tell Roxy's guardian was still unsettled, so I did a grounding exercise with her. By the time we were completed with Roxy's guardian's grounding, Roxy had come out from behind the toilet into the living area and was lying at her guardian's feet.
This is a great example how our pet(s) respond to our energy.
