| | Does life seem to have multiple things happening at once? And some things having opposite affects on you?

Living in Seattle proper there is a lot of excitement and buzz about the Seahawks playing in the SuperBowl on Sunday. Here is a picture of one of the multiple dogs on my walk today with Seahawk jerseys. This weekend is going to be filled with anticipation, parties and a major football game for a lot of people.
And at the same time life is going on for others such as a really close person to me who was a big support and ally as I navigated growing up and even until now died a couple days ago unexpectedly. So this realization, this shock, this grief is being felt by those who knew and loved her. This same weekend is being filled with a different experience of tears, loss and sadness for some including me even with my belief that she is truly happier where she is now.
I am excited for the Seahawks and I am deeply sad for this loss. And my heart receives delight with the animals who are benefiting with my healing gifts and having better quality of lives from our work together. Lots of emotions to manage...
That is the key - managing them. You will have them, we all do.
When emotions are not given their space to be expressed, it gets overwhelming. Your animals will feel this and you will find their behavior escalating causing you even more stress.

| | Mickey the "Miracle Kitty"
"My cat, Mickey, who has a “big heart” was 7 years old when she was diagnosed with a liver condition where her liver turned on itself and was eating itself. She was vomiting, horribly yellow from jaundice, and not eating. It came on quickly, I was horrified at seeing her go downhill so far and so quickly. We took her to the vet, who put her in kitty ICU where it did not look good for her. They really didn’t know much they could do, and mostly, they told us, this condition ends in death for cats.
She was on feeding tubes with round the clock monitoring and the vet setting the expectation she probably was not going to make it. We visited her every day. I could see Mickey getting sicker and weaker and this was breaking my heart to think of losing her.
I am no stranger to working with energy healing; I have worked (and trained) with many energy healers around the world. Vicki has enormous skill. So when Vicki communicated with Mickey and Mickey told Vicki she was going to be coming home again, I totally did not see how that could happen.
The vet was discussing the possibility of putting her down. Vicki asked that I wait 2 more days to make that decision and I agreed. Vicki continued to work with her and during those two days, Mickey started to get visibly stronger. The yellow left, she began eating and looking like herself again.
Very soon after that, Mickey did come home and has been here now for 2 extra years. She’s snuggled in her basket on my desk as I write this, filling my heart with joy. When I took her home, the vet and all the technicians were calling her “the miracle kitty”.
Mickey’s big heart even touched my husband who “hates cats”. I was absolutely certain he would never touch or pet or talk to a cat, ever. He was adamantly against them. But since then, Mickey won him over. Almost every time he sees her, he picks her up, plays games with her, or feeds her. They have their own special language together. And this would never have happened if Vicki had not been there to support Mickey coming back from death’s door, allowing her “big heart” to literally change the landscape of our home, every day.

| | Tip: When your animals are misbehaving, you are frustrated with their actions, I invite you to pause and take 3 slow deep breaths.
How to Use This: Taking 3 slow deep breaths in and out, calms you down which in turn calms your animals down.
This week I gave a presentation to a group of 4H children and their dogs. (One of the leaders featured in photo.) I had all of us take 3 slow deep breaths at the same time. The dogs in the room took notice and responded being more settled. Can you picture a room of 8 children and their dogs and it being quiet and calm? It happened.
