Did you know greyhounds are raced hard early on and then retired, pushed aside after their racing career is over?
Gal is one of the lucky ones who found a great home with very loving guardians and children who love her.
Gal is an 9 year old retired greyhound racing athlete. She was rescued by my client after her racing career. She originally came to me because Gal had hurt her shoulder and had been limping awhile before they found me.
Now Gal is running around better than ever. Her shoulder has healed and she is all tuned up (a way of saying she has balanced her whole body after her injury where the injury and all of the compensating muscles are now back and functioning in a balanced way).
After a session in the summer, Gal was feeling so good that she jumped into her guardian’s car in the back where the top was lifted up with the tailgate still up. Deborah’s jaw dropped saying “Gal hasn’t jumped that high in a long time”.
It is music to my ears when I see first-hand or hear animals are feeling good and having a good time.
After Gal’s sessions, she always jumps around friskily, playfully and happily to let us know she is feeling really good.
Gal is well taken care of. The nanny, Joyce, now brings Gal to her monthly healing sessions for maintenance to keep her healthy, and moving with ease.
They have a special routine the day she comes for her sessions where Gal rides in her special spot in the car.
When Gal was in this week for her session, Joyce shared that Gal really gets excited to come see me.
And true to form, after her session, Gal got up, did a big stretch and then jumped and pranced around the room happily.
