Tip: Help keep your cat, your dog cool this summer
Your cats, your dogs do not sweat like we do to cool our bodies. And it is a myth they sweat through their paws. They pant to help cool off. Their fur plays the role of slowing down the heat absorption into their bodies. In really hot weather, this is not enough.
Here are some things you can do to help your cats, your dogs stay cool:
1. Plenty of water available for them inside and outside
2. Put ice cubes in your cat, your dog's water bowl
3. Closed shade/curtain room, well ventilated
4. Cool tile floor in shaded room
5. Shave your cat, your dog
6. Boots help your animal's paws from the heat of the pavement
7. Lay a cool towel down on floor for them. It is best if it cools their belly and paws rather than on top of your animal's back.
