There are a few things that you can do now to help your pet LOSE the weight, but KEEP eating and stay happy.
1. MORE protein. I have always had the best results on elevated protein diets, which include at least 50% canned, raw food.
2. Cut out the treats, especially the high carbohydrate ones, commit to exercising your dog twice daily for at least 30 minutes, and feed only the measured amount of food based on your pet’s weight
3. Colostrum. Colostrum has been shown to help with weight loss by increasing muscle mass. The increased muscle leads to increased metabolism, and loss of fat. Increasing numbers of athletes are using colostrum; it is a safe nutrient to consider adding to your overweight pet’s diet.

| P.S. I am now only feeding my fat cat Gussie a small measured amount of carbohydrate' kibble, and mostly canned food. IF you are to do ONLY one thing it is to feed your pets LESS kibble, and actual protein as a food source.
