Hi Friend,
Welcome to Thursday- I will be leaving soon to go to the Dentist..
FUN
Well not really :-)
------------------------------------------------- New Diabetes Treatment -------------------------------------------------
This metabolic disease is on the rise amongst people, and increasingly so in dogs and cats.
It all boils down to a lack of insulin, not being produced from the pancreas.
Excessive blood sugar leads to all the clinical signs:
Increased drinking, increased urinating etc...
Most of your time the options are pretty limited to a few things, but PRIMARILY being Insulin injections..
But there are MANY more options.
Here is a new one I discuss in the UPDATED version of Veterinary Secrets:
Alpha-lipoic acid: This is an antioxidant it also helps protect the cells of the body against free radical damage.
Free radicals are the result of normal cellular reactions; they themselves cause harmful cell reactions, but alpha-lipoic acid can protect against this. Of special note, most antioxidants only work in water ( ie Vitamin C) or fatty tissues ( Vitamin E); alpha-lipoic acid works in both.
In studies with people it appears to help lower blood sugar levels. There is also a condition in people, and sometimes in cats, called diabetic neuropathy; it also appears to help in this condition.
For Diabetes in people the dose is 800mg per day- assuming this is for a 150lb person, then dose it would be dosed accordingly lower for pets ( ie 80 mg per 10lbs daily)
P.S. There are OVER 150 NEW Remedies in the UPDATED Veterinary Secrets Revealed.
