A great question, especially in light of ALL the ongoing pet food recalls..


Marketplace Safety Record

First, from our own statistics: well over 15,000 jars of Ultimate Canine have been sold since we introduced it in 2008. Aside from mild instances intestinal upset (diarrhea, less so vomiting, common when changing your dog’s diet in any way, especially when done too quickly), there have been less than 10 reported adverse reactions. 

The reactions we have seen, as reported by clients, have been allergic-type reactions, such as increased scratching.

Generally these dogs had a history of allergies (atopic dermatitis or food allergy).

Overall, the overwhelming majority of dogs that do have allergies have responded well, with decreased symptoms – i.e. less itching, decreased incidence of ear infections, less hair loss, and improved odor.

Ultimate Canine clearly works for the vast majority of dogs.


Quality Control

Dr. Jones’ Ultimate Canine is manufactured with Human Grade ingredients in a GMP-certified plant.

Extensive 3rd party testing

1.As the premix components arrive at the plant, all are sent for testing in an external (Third Party) facility for quality, accuracy, and safety – they are tested to ensure they are free of any toxins whatsoever.

2.The components are blended, and a ‘first run’ test batch is produced. The blend is then tested, again at an external facility, for component accuracy (to ensure that what is ‘on the bottle’ is ‘in the bottle’) and safety. If this passes the testing procedures, then the ‘full run’ occurs.

3.After the ‘full run’ and bottling, the product is tested a final time, for safety and component accuracy, prior to being shipped to our warehouse.

Ingredients are primarily sourced locally (within North America), and all are from the highest quality suppliers with the best (and safest) reputations in the industry.  As stated above, every single ingredient is tested prior to being blended in the supplement to ensure safety and efficacy.
