Hello Friend,
A cheery Friday to you and all of your family, 2 or 4 legged!
Are there *really* cancer causing toxins in dog food?
Unfortunately yes, and there is one in particular which has multiple studies being a serious carcinogen to people and animals... it's seldom tested for and not required to be tested for in dog food.
Consider this: |
|
|
An independent 3rd party tested over 1000 different pet foods for toxins and contaminants...
They reported on 5 in particular which can cause cancer:
- Lead
- BPA
- Mercury
- Arsenic
- Cadmium
Most are heavy metals: environmental contaminants that can make their way into the food chain.
Mercury for instance concentrates in in fish, BPA leaches from plastic, and cans contain Lead, Arsenic and Cadmium??
Cadmium is a lesser known heavy metal, but is a concerning carcinogen
Here is what the National Cancer Institute has to say: |
| | Cadmium and its compounds are highly toxic and exposure is known to cause cancer. It is primarily associated with human lung, prostate, and kidney cancers, and recently pancreatic cancer. It has also been associated with cancers of the breast and urinary bladder.
|
| The Clean Label Project found 200% more Cadmium in pet food in comparison to cigarettes!
94% of all pet food exceeded the EPA maximum drinking water level...
What this all means is that if you are feeding your dog a commercial food you are possibly feeding Cadmium, a known carcinogen.

|
| P.S. So what do you feed? We need some far more serious regulations/testing for pet food Toxins.
How can it be that this multi BILLION dollar industry can be alright with us feeding toxins to our pets?
Maybe Purina could put a little less into advertising a little more into testing? Feed less commercial pet food, and start making more of your dog's food at home.
