The Programa Pueblos Mágicos ("Magical Villages Program") identifies towns and villages that offer a "magical" experience due to their natural beauty, cultural riches, and historical relevance. We are so excited to announce that Sayulita has been named the latest Pueblo Mágico!
The
Pueblos Mágicos program was launched in 2001 by Mexico's Secretariat of
Tourism (SECTUR) and now includes 84 towns and villages throughout
Mexico. The designation helps travelers identify destinations that offer more than a beautiful resort and a margarita. Pueblo Mágico towns have gone to great lengths to protect and save their cultural heritage and must meet the following criteria to be accepted into the program:
- Conservation of symbolic attributes
- Architectural beauty
- Site of historic moments and legends
- Towns with extensive history and culture
- Present-day community
- Locals maintain customs and traditions
- No further than 200 km (or 2 hours) by land from a popular tourism destination
- Population of at least 20,000 people
A "Magical Village" is a place with symbolism, legends, history, important events, day-to-day life – in other words, "magic" in its social and cultural manifestations, with great opportunities for tourism.

"Great property, great owners, the description online doesn't do it justice. The location was perfect, close but not too close to beach and town... A five min walk to either at most. Each suite has its own bathroom. The property is well designed and maintained. Comparable to luxury hotels at Punta Mita. "This is our second stay at Casa Paloma and we loved it more! From seeing Ernesto again to asking Dora to cook us another b-day meal of shrimp and fish, we were well taken care of. The house is beautiful and accommodated our group of 8 adults and 2 kids, ages 11 and 13, perfectly! We saw the new room addition, so now know we can bring even more family!! And, of course, you cannot beat the location! Having three kitchens was amazing. The kitchens allowed everyone to have morning coffee at their own pace!!!! Casa Paloma is the most beautiful villa on the beach! Thank you Ernesto and Dora!!" March 2015

| Family trip to Sayulita, Mexico
"We choose Villa Colina for our family vacation. We were 5 adults and 4 children, age 4 to 14. We all enjoyed the stay at Villa Colina tremendously. It was everything I had hoped for. The house was spacious and the three bedroom suites were on different levels, so all the adults had some privacy. My grandchildren loved the pool and became fond of the house cat. I was impressed by the art around the house and the views from the different levels of the house. The location was excellent. It was very close to downtown and the beach. The manager Ernesto arranged our transportation from and to the airport, which was a great help. The drivers even stopped at a supermarket so that we could get groceries. I highly recommend this property as a place to experience a great family vacation." June 2015

| Celebrating Love and Friendship
"A group of friends all traveled to Mexico to attend a mutual friend's wedding. It was a literal takeover of the properties in this cul-de-sac with our party staying in Casa Sonadora. I would say it definitely fits its name (House of Dreams) and was the nicest of the homes in this area. The house is ideal for a small party of individuals and/or couples or a larger family. The open design is ideal for relaxation and entertaining. The pool is a refreshing area to spend your day if you choose. We would definitely stay at this property again and would recommend it to anyone that is thinking of visiting this lovely town in Mexico." May 2015

| Exceeded Our Expectations
"A part of me wants to tell everyone about this wonderful house and another part of me wants to keep it a secret! Casa Sonadora is the BEST house in Sayulita. It's clean and new and the pool, gardens, tree house, rooftop deck and iguana tree were all amazing. The house easily slept our two families (4 adults and 4 kids). I was concerned that the den being used as the 4th bedroom might pose sleeping arrangement challenges but that room really works out perfectly as a bedroom. The house closes up tight at night with very secure windows and doors, which is not always the case with other rentals. The last house we rented in Sayulita had shutters on the windows with no glass, only screens. Casa Sonadora really is just a three minute walk to town and tack on another minute to the beach. Both the owners and the on-site property manager were easy to work with and very responsive. Eric even helped us arrange a wonderful Mexican feast at the house by Carmina. There was plenty of space for all of us spread out and enjoy a week in beautiful Sayulita!" April 2015
