You would be forgiven for thinking that I must have fallen off the planet. The truth is I had to go "off grid" for a bit to get my head around some family matters that proved to be far more involved than I thought. Sorry about that. I'm not a hit and run type and do care how things are going for you and your horse, and how what you learned at the clinic is working for you.
So, two things for you, well three: - "How can I apply a more released Feel to my riding?"
Because, afterall, the main point of the Feel concepts we explored was to improve, clarify and enhance our foundation for a more elegant ride, with a more connected Feel that has more meaning for the horse. I know some of you preferred to go deeper into those elements (of how to connect your "inside" Feel to your hand and all the way through your horse to his feet - in various contexts) rather than ride on Day 2, and since we had such limited time for those who did, you might be wondering "so how can I apply a more released Feel to my riding?"
So I thought I'd send you a copy of this Released Equitation E-book, with three detailed tutorials to peruse. Topics include:
. Releasing your (buzzed) horse to you . Refining transitions (on a lazier horse) through release . Refining the rein connection (all the way through your horse)
Click here for your private (please!) link to read the E-book on-line or download to an E-Reader - or to print! [Note this it's over 40 pages so be patient if you have a slowly Internet connection]
- Would you be interested in a follow up live Q&A call (with replay if you can't make it)? Please email me if you'd find this useful and also any questions you'd like us to cover - reply to this email or email karenmusson@theartofriding.com
- If you would like to continue learning more about the Feel of Release and how to incorporate it into more of what you are doing, you are welcome to take a look at a program starting soon that combines individual video coaching with live group coaching calls for more of a sense of community and the exchange of key insights along the way. It runs from July 20th to September 20th. You can find out more here.
I'm off again on a 10 day university-visiting tour of New Hampshire - everything is so far away here! Life should get back to normal after that. And last but by no means least, I am more than aware that I've not got the clinic photos out for you to see, and I will still do that - my apologies. I need a clone. Although I'm not so sure about that idea...
Meanwhile, if you have any questions about the clinic or feedback in general, I am listening and always interested in what you have found most useful, or life-changing (for your horse partnership at least), or improvements I can make.
Thank you and (politics aside) I hope you are enjoying a super summer!
