Well, of all the questions submitted, there were 5 main types...asked in various ways.

QUESTION #5: What is the geographical coverage of the Card?
ANSWER #5: Our Card covers from as far south as Georgetown, all the way up to Wilmington, North Carolina. The vast majority of the discounts are from Little River down to Pawleys Island (and most are in Myrtle Beach & North Myrtle Beach).

QUESTION #4: Are there "lodging/car" discounts?
ANSWER #4: Sorry. Not yet. We'd love that. We're working on it!
QUESTION #3: This question was actually a group of questions we've labelled - "What Discounts Are There?"
You all wanted to know: Where can my card be used? How many discounts are there? How much can it save me? Does it really save me money? Does this card work everywhere?
ANSWER #3: - This 1 Card can be used at Restaurants, Golf Courses, Local Attractions, Nightlife & Live Shows and some Shops & Services. (See Our Discounts)
- There are 300 participating businesses
- It has saved some people between $400-500. Most people save between $200-300 during a busy 2-week vacation. Obviously, that totally depends a lot on how much you eat out and what you do for fun while here.
- Yes. It REALLY saves you money. 100 of our 300 discounts are BOGO discounts. 200 are between 10-25% Off! If you have a pulse at all, this Card will save you way more than it's $20 price tag!
- No. It does NOT work everywhere. It is only accepted at the 300 participating businesses (which isn't a small number!). Refer to the 5 "Discount" emails we sent you recently, or see Our Discounts. Make sure to look up the business in your email or on our website before you present your Card.
QUESTION #2: This was also broader group of questions we've labelled - "How Does It Work?"
You wanted to know: When can I get it? How do I get it? How long is it good for? Are there any catches - is it hassle-free? Is it easy to use? Does my spouse get one?
ANSWER #2: - You can get it right now (In fact, if you're out of state, you should get it right now instead of waiting 2 days before you leave for here...like some people do!)
- You can get your Card(s) simply by purchasing them at full price from our website here. HOWEVER...if you would like a great discount on multiple cards (extras for your spouse/kids/grand-kids/travel buddies/etc...), then click Limited-Time Offer - This offer is only seen by those of you who signed up to our "Guest" List!
- It is good for the whole year! (Just check the details of your favorite discounts to see if there are any fluctuations in discounts during peak tourist season - these mostly apply to golf discounts.)
- There are no "catches" - aside from the previously mentioned discount fluctuations...again, mostly with the golf discounts.
- It is very much hassle-free. However, we're dealing with 300 businesses. I'm sure one of you is going to experience a small hiccup somewhere. Welcome to "life"!
- It IS easy to use. When placing an order, or setting a "tee-time", etc...just let the person know you'll be using your UMBDCard. Perhaps confirm with the person serving you that they do in fact accept the Card. PS - Make sure you read and understand the "discount" thoroughly.
- Your spouse only gets one if you purchase a 2nd card. 1 card does cover 2-4 people at many places. However...many of our members find it easier to just have a 2nd card on hand. OK...The #1 QUESTION we received was: "How much does it cost?"
ANSWER #1: Only $20 per card (Reg. price).
Based on the amount this card saves most people, it should be priced in the $40-50 range.
However, this year, they're only $20 each. PLUS, as mentioned above, you can get extra cards for even less!
Don't expect the price to be $20 next year. Whatever that price is, it'll still be worth it and we know we'll get very few complaints about the increase.
