This Sunday @ UCC: Your Crown - Leddy Hammock
|
|
from The Crown on Your Head by Nancy Tillman
“On the day that we met . . . I noticed a crown on the top of your head . . . .I always knew just what your crown meant. It meant that you were MAGNIFICENT.”
“That means you are grand from your toes to your chin. Take a deep breath, and let that sink in . . . . and it means, like a star, YOU WERE BORN TO SHINE . . . .”
“Whatever it is you choose to do, no one can do it exactly like you. . . . And if you fall down, remember your glorious, marvelous crown. It won’t flicker or fade. It won’t dim. It won’t leave. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS BELIEVE.”
“The world is a wonderland waiting for you. And you get to share it with all your friends, too! They each have a crown that is faithful and true. No one’s is brighter, no one’s is duller. It’s only a crown of a different color.
So sometimes, just every now and then, whisper ‘I believe’ again. Your crown is your best friend forever, by far. It tells the true story of just who you are.” |

| | Saturdays 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM Peace COTTAGE
Do you know CPR?
Retired Belleair Lieutenant Charles Barlet, who was a fireman and EMS supervisor and a good friend of our member, Ms. Jackie Blake (beloved Belleair Firehouse "Mom" who made her transition a few years ago), is generously offering CPR/AED re-certification training, open to the public, here at the Peace Cottage.
Chuck has worked in Fire/EMS for over 31 years. He's certified through the American Heart Association since 1980, and has CPR/AED, First Aid, Pediatrics and Bloodborne Pathogen training and certification.
The class is very relaxed and easy and will last from 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
Registration is $40 for the general public and $20 for UCC members
(Lieutenant Barlet also hosts a free non-certifying class in the children's wing of the Largo Library every three months for new parents.)
Chuck is available most Saturdays for the CPR training but phone/email confirmation is important to sync with his schedule
You may reach him by phone at 727-580-2845 or by email cpr4everybody@aol.com |

| | | | October Heart of the House - Keir Walton
|
| As a child, he sang while listening to the radio or his mom’s Elvis records, and, at 12, his mother let him try out for Commercial Kids and Company in St. Petersburg. He sang “Doe A Deer” from Sound of Music. They let him sing it seven or eight times and even provided additional voice lessons. Keir Walton never got nervous, even in later performances at Disney World, and vocal lessons continued to adulthood.
Today, UCC’s Sunday morning audience enjoys the mature musical range of Keir’s powerfully projecting tenor voice as a member of the Unity band. In 2000, Keir’s aunt Sherry Dawkins introduced him to UCC. After hearing Leddy speak, he never went to another church, and, listening to the choir and Bill Barrett playing keyboard, he knew he wanted to sing here. After the service, in a successful solo audition, he sang “Stand By Me.” Some years later, he and his family brought his daughter Kassidy to Unity when she was less than a year old.

Please check in at the welcome counter in the lobby after church, so that one of our helpers can make sure your info is current.
This will be an ongoing project, so stop by any Sunday that's convenient.

| | | | THE POWER OF PROSPEROUS THINKING
“A certain businessman had been a failure for years because subconsciously he felt guilty about succeeding. He had been reared in a family that considered poverty a spiritual virtue. As he grew up, he began to realize that poverty cannot possibly be a virtue because it causes so much of the world’s troubles. He saw that poverty . . . drives men and women to degradation and despair. He realized that poverty drives potentially fine, talented, intelligent children to delinquency and crime; that poverty often makes people do things they otherwise would never think of doing.
Nevertheless, this man never fully succeeded in business until he learned of the power of prosperous thinking. Finally he was convinced that prosperity is divinely approved, and that he should deliberately and definitely expect prosperity as a spiritual blessing. From that point on, his whole life was changed. Previous business failure and heavy indebtedness are now being dissolved through the rich ideas he is receiving as a result of deliberate, prosperous thinking. Often he meditates upon this statement: ‘Rich, appropriate, divine ideas now come to me from every direction, and I wisely use them now.’”
(Catherine Ponder in The Prospering Power of Love [Unity School of Christianity, 1966]
Your Weekly Prosperity Affirmation: “RICH, APPROPRIATE, DIVINE IDEAS NOW COME TO ME FROM EVERY DIRECTION, AND I WISELY USE THEM NOW.” THANK YOU, GOD!
