FAITH OF A MONARCH
FAITH OF A MONARCH autumn of Corona, 2020 – Leddy Hammock

“I have no faith, I can’t go on.  I feel like I’ve come to the end.
What little faith I had is gone.”
   Then, answered my Gardener friend:
“Look close to the underside of this leaf of the common milkweed here.
Ask yourself, can you find as much belief as that pearly little sphere?
It’s no bigger than a mustard seed, yet holds such a will to survive,
Rolls out as a furry worm, eager to feed, with a destiny to thrive,
'Til its internal clock signals when to fold around itself where it clings
A chrysalis forms like a sheath of gold and emerges with Monarch’s wings.
It can follow the sun across continents, with a brain like a sesame seed.
So, it makes good sense Divine Intents lead it home to the right milkweed.
You’re a Monarch, too!  Remember this, when you can’t find faith to try,
For it only takes a little bit – the faith of a butterfly.”

“LORD, I CRIED TO YOU TO GET ME THROUGH MY CRISIS, BUT WHAT IS THIS?”
“HUSH, MY CHILD, BE STILL; YOU KNOW I WILL,
BUT THIS IS YOUR CHRYSALIS!” – L. Hammock 2020

“I only ask to be free.  The butterflies are free.” – Charles Dickens in Bleak House. (“Butterflies are Free,” play by Leonard Gershe); movie starting Goldie Hawn and Edward Albert).

“Often in life what appears to be an ending is really a glorious new beginning.  Butterflies are self-propelled flowers.” --Robert A. Heinlein

“What the caterpillar calls the end of the world, the Master calls a butterfly." --Richard Bach

This Sunday's Lesson: - Web of Faith
I stand alone, I close my eyes and wait against the wind, steady and strong. I am unmoved, for I am not afraid. I stand and wait, for I know how to wait, I’m holding on.

With every thought, a silken thread is cast, spinning across oceans of space, ‘Til, thought by thought, a pattern forms at last —
this veil of mine, of gossamer design, a net divine.

My bridge of faith takes hold. As my faith takes hold, how it glistens in the light, as it holds! The power of faith knows how to weave in the invisible, as I believe.

My bridge of faith takes hold. As my faith takes hold, how it glistens in the light, as it holds!

How You Can Donate
We still are getting frequent questions has been: "what's the best way to send an offering to the church?"

We're checking mail every day, so checks sent through the mail are fine as are checks sent from your bank's online bill pay.

The easiest option is our online donation form which can be found at: https://www.unityofclearwater.org/giving/

If you feel led you might consider setting up an automatic recurring donation. This can be done through your banks bill pay or on the church's donation form.

We've also been asked about the processing fees the church has to pay when the online form is used. The fees are a small percentage (3&-4%) of the total donation, however there is an option to cover fees that you may select if you feel so inclined. Every little bit helps and we're grateful if you decide to turn that option on.

Healing Thoughts # 30
"One man had the rude jolt of being unexpectedly told that he was being retired. After many years with his corporation, his department was being eliminated, and his job along with it. He sat at his desk in utter despair and defeat . . . . The spectre of lack, poverty, and destitution hovered on his horizon. As he sat in his office on his last night, he noticed a spider on the desk and unconsciously he brushed it off. Then he noticed with amazement as the tiny spider automatically spun a strand to bear its weight and swung gracefully to the floor. He thought to himself that if this tiny creature could draw forth from within itself a reserve of substance to meet its emergency, why could he not do as much?

The man sat at his desk for many hours in quiet and deep meditation. He came to know, for the first time in his life, that the source of his supply was not in jobs and money, but in the source of ideas within himself. He had done a little writing in his spare time, and had secretly longed to try it as a full-time profession. So, he blessed his retirement, thanked God for the new opportunity, and began to write short stories, poems, and essays. He hasn’t obtained great wealth or fame, but he has acquired something of more lasting value—satisfaction and happiness. Incidentally, he gets a few nice checks each month which more than double his halfpay retirement income." -- Eric Butterworth, Lecture, August, 1975
Your Weekly Affirmation:

"LIFE IS CONSCIOUSNESS. GOD IS MY SOURCE OF STRENGTH, SUPPLY, AND SUBSTANCE -- INFINITE, AND INEXHAUSTIBLE.
I HAVE THE FAITH TO PERCEIVE ALL-SUFFICIENCY BEFORE IT APPEARS IN THE OUTER. GOD IS MY RESILIENT WEB OF FAITH."

THANK YOU, GOD!
