| | Resuming LIT Sunday series

| Last autumn, six of our Sunday lessons in a row were based on the first six chapter/lessons of Unity's primary text (after the Bible): Lessons in Truth by H. Emilie Cady. During this springtime, our Sunday lessons between now and Palm Sunday will resume with the study of the second half of Lessons in Truth on March 5.
Whether or not you have had the opportunity to share in an evening class on these lessons here at Unity, you will find this series refreshing and renewing as they come to life in your spiritual life! |

Join us for this prayer time in the familiar format, including the blessing of silent prayer.
"The word Lent comes from the Anglo-Saxon word for spring, which is derived from a verb meaning to lengthen. Lent comes in the spring when the days become noticeably longer . . . .
Lent is a season of spiritual growth, a time for progressive unfoldment. When we can blend and merge our minds with God-Mind, the way is open for the Lord to glorify us and to lift us into a higher, purer, more spiritual state. 'Where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the midst of them,' said Jesus . . . .
As day after day we steadily adhere to our firm resolve to follow the steps outlined for the Lenten season, we discover that we are guiding on a firm foundation, and are mounting into a higher consciousness. We come to know that Christ is indeed with us and is resurrecting in us His realizations of light, life, and substance" (Charles Fillmore in Keep a True Lent).
"To observe Lent according to the spirit rather than the letter we must fast from criticism and condemnation and feast on love . . . . Ideas such as these form an excellent basis for Lenten meditation and help establish permanent spiritual values in heart and mind" (Foreword by Georgiana Tree West).
Join in our regular guided meditation services from 7-7:30 pm on Wednesday evenings, led by The Rev. Judy Tafelski in the Peace Chapel, starting on Ash Wednesday, March 1, through the last Wednesday in April. Enter through the Bookstore Doors.

Carol believes “There is a need to blend Feng Shui & Healthy Building practices, to create healthier, peaceful, joy filled living and working environments for all”. Her mission is to help people go from ‘Chaos to Calm’!

| | | | | Your Children Will Feel SO Welcome in our Youth Ministry!

Although we are honored that our young Truth students like to come to Sunday service with you, here are a few love-notes we hope you'll take to heart and know that they would be SO welcome in our Youth Ministry! -- Pretty please?
1. If, instead of bringing your own children to experience our Youth Ministry, you let them come into the Sanctuary with you, then other children won't find classmates there in our YM and new students won't feel as interested in staying to learn and socialize unless they are greeted by friends. We have hired wonderful professional nursery attendants to assist every Sunday, and they'd love to meet your little ones! Within the first five minutes, usually even first-time guests are delighted they came to Unity YM nursery or pre-K!
2. The class time lessons shared by our loving volunteer teachers are especially prepared for our elementary and teen age groups, so these learning experiences tend to be much more fun and meaningful to our young Truth students than the adult service format. We promise the school age students won't be bored! And these Unity lessons are empowering in every aspect of their lives!
3. Youngsters are adorable, but we don't expect them to sit still as statues. Yet, many adults in our spiritual family are going through "interesting times," so they really like to focus on the worship service, which includes quiet times and thoughtful messages. Remember that this worship time is for parents, too, and you'll probably enjoy this worship time in our Sanctuary as much as your little ones will enjoy their time in our Youth Wing! Let's help one another in our quest and help our YM -- and our Church -- grow at the same time!
Volunteer classroom aides are welcome, so if your little one doesn't want to leave your side, please stay with them in the YM class until they feel at home. Then just ask for a complimentary CD or DVD of our worship service at the Bookstore -- your choice!

| | March Heart of the House - Rob Hammock
|
| Rev. Rob Hammock, Associate Minister at UCC, is a 5th generation native Floridian and 3rd generation native to the Clearwater area, the 2nd son of the late Leon Russell Hammock Sr. and Roberta (Bobbie) Hammock. Rob’s father, who made his transition on May 11, 2016, was born into one of Pinellas County’s pioneer families. The endearing qualities of the former Fortune Bank president, remembered for his religion of kindness, are evidenced in his sons.
The younger brother of Russ Hammock, Rob graduated from Clearwater High School, received his A.A. degree at the St Petersburg Junior College and, in 1985, began working in the UCC church office.
