Subject: What's Happening - This Is the Place to Be - Weekly Affirmation

This Sunday @ UCC:

This Is the Place to Be - Leddy Hammock

LeddyThis place . . .

. . . is where Spirit has brought me for a holy purpose.

. . . is where I always feel God’s presence; it blesses me when I think of it.

. . . is such a part of me, and I am filled with grace and peace.

. . . always heals me somehow, and stays with me when I go forth.

Again and again, Spirit brings me home to this place.

Class: Casting on the Other Side

Tue, Jan 19-Mar 1
7:00 PM
Café

A new, 7 session class taught by Dieter & Jennifer Randolph

"As a child of God, you already know how to love, and you have everything you need to grow.

Given our belief in inherent good, it's odd that the first thing we do when somebody comes to Unity for guidance is hand the person a book.

At a certain level, the key to happiness, prosperity, and success is not a matter of learning something new, but rather in a practical application of what you’ve known all along.

In this seven-week class, we’ll explore what it feels like to be a Unity person, and show the world what love looks like as we work to live in peace and on purpose.”

The class is offered on a free will, love offering basis.

Heart of the House:
Sue Claxton

Faithful Unity members, Sue and Ray Claxton, like their friends at UCC and  On Top of the World, their winter residence, always look forward to their fall-to-spring interval in the Sunshine State.  They have been coming here since 2004, first renting a beach house at Indian Rocks Beach and later purchasing a condo where Ray looked forward to “free” golf.    They have learned that “when you include the monthly maintenance fee, it’s not so free.”

Born and raised in the small town of Churubusco, IN, Sue recalls walking to the movie theater by herself at age 9 or 10.  “It was a totally different world then,” she says of that idyllic, safer time. She and Ray attended the same high school and graduated in the same class but never dated until their end-of-year senior trip.   In December, they celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary.

The Gulf Oil Spill & UCC

The Gulf Oil Spill happened in April of 2010.

Slightly more than a year after, we found it necessary, as did the UU Church across the street, to return to one Sunday service after having had two services each Sunday for more than 30 years.

A few years ago, our Board of Directors at that time advised that a claim regarding BP Oil be filed with an attorney.

We do not know if there will be any results of that claim or not.  But at this time, we are asking that if anyone here has been a supporter of this ministry for more than five years, and feels that his/her attendance, contributions, were impacted because his or her own finances were impacted, directly or indirectly, by the Gulf Oil Spill, s/he should definitely share the personal account with me or Russ in person, on the phone, or by mail or email asap.

“LOVE SOLVES BOTH PERSONAL AND BUSINESS PROBLEMS"
I know of a group of persons who once experimented with the power of love in a prayer group and found it to be the greatest thing in the world to solve both personal and business problems. Once a week these persons met for an hour and affirmed statements of divine love. They brought to these meetings their private prayer lists of people and situations they wished to bless with the success power of love. No one else saw their prayer lists, nor did they talk about the people and problems their prayer lists represented.

Instead, they quietly placed their hands on their individual prayer lists while they affirmed together various statements on divine love. ‘DIVINE LOVE IS DOING ITS PERFECT WORK IN ME AND THROUGH ME NOW’ they affirmed for themselves, for their own health, wealth, and happiness; ‘DIVINE LOVE IS DOING ITS PERFECT WORK IN YOU AND THROUGH YOU NOW’ they affirmed for those on their prayer lists. For a number of weeks they met and affirmed statements of love over and over. In a quiet way, amazing things began to happen to the various members of the group and to the people for whom they prayed.”
