Palm Sunday @ UCC:
Lesson Title: - The View from Here
Hello, Friends,

While we are all being told to shelter in place these days, let's agree that we will give some time to prayerful contemplation to balance the time we might be spending watching the "News," right?

It's good to stay informed, but not alarmed. While we are certainly meeting with uncertain times, let's practice inner certainty: We see through the appearances to greater wisdom and strength.

We keep mindful of the helpers, the heroes all around us, who are serving humankind above and beyond the call of duty. We admire their courage and endurance and we resolve to honor them by showing compassion and patience toward one another.

Let us practice social distancing -- not spiritual distance!

Let's praise every sign of human courage and let's praise the Infinite Wisdom that is now guiding human science and encouraging human kindness.

We are journeying together, one prayer at a time.

Lovingly, Leddy

This Sunday We're Going to Start Streaming at 10:45 To See If We Can Get a Little Headstart on the Church Internet Traffic
This week’s lesson inspired by lyrics to “The View from Here” by Sue Riley, Melinda Wood Allen, and Sloan Wainwright:

I know this place. I know it by heart. I have met the Christ presence here and I see the Christ wherever I go.

I know this place. It has always been a part of me. I am sharing the Christ love with the whole world.

I know this place. I love this place, for I see the Christ in our midst of us, enfolding us in peace.

I know the Christ is always with us. Looking forward, I see the Christ lovingly leading us and watching over us. This is the view from here.

No, Leddy & Russ Didn't Write This. Honest!
I have been a member of UCC since 1979 upon arriving from Massachusetts. For the last 40 years Reverend Leddy Hammock has been our guiding force of energy, Truth and unconditional Love. The Unity Church had a fire in 2003, and she led the congregation in a large tent on the church ground on Sundays until the construction was accomplished. Now as our world is in the midst of a Pandemic, Reverend Leddy and her husband Russ have gone to" Zoom media" and the music ministry performs at their home and Russ puts it all together and all of our congregation can watch the service in their homes.

In the early years of 1980 I was honored to be asked to be the Youth Ed. Director, and, with the Leadership of Reverend Leddy, we grew our Youth Ministry with wonderful volunteers until we needed a new addition added to the Church. I have been asked twice to serve on Unity of Clearwater’s Board of Directors. How very honored we are in our Church Home.
How You Can Donate
In the past couple of weeks many have asked  "what's the best way to send an offering to the church?"

We're checking mail every day, so checks sent through the mail are fine as are checks sent from your bank's online bill pay.

The easiest option is our online donation form which can be found at: https://www.unityofclearwater.org/giving/

If you feel led you might consider setting up an automatic recurring donation. This can be done through your banks bill pay or on the church's donation form.

We've also been asked about the processing fees the church has to pay when the online form is used. The fees are a small percentage (3&-4%) of the total donation, however there is an option to cover fees that you may select if you feel so inclined. Every little bit helps and we're grateful if you decide to turn that option on.
"Love in Action" & Video by Pam Rose
"Love in Action"

"When you go out and see the empty streets, the empty stadiums, the empty train platforms, don't say to yourself, 'It looks like the end of the world.'

What you're seeing is love in action. What you're seeing, in that negative space, is how much we do care for each other, for our grandparents, for our immune-compromised brothers and sisters, for people we will never meet.

People will lose jobs over this. Some will lose their businesses. and some will lose their lives. All the more reason to take a moment, when you're out on your walk, on your own way to the store, or just watching the news, to look into the emptiness and marvel at all of the love.

Let it fill and sustain you. It isn't the end of the world. It is the most remarkable act of global solidarity we may ever witness." -- Author Unknown
Love is in action around the globe, as illustrated in this marvelous video by emPower Music and Arts (emPowerMA.com) Posi Award Recipient, brilliant singer-songwriter, Pam Rose.

We featured her song, "If I Fly" from her great CD of the same name at UCC last October.

We had invited her to perform at Unity of Clearwater on a Sunday this spring, before Covid19 changed our plans. We will certainly ask her to come again when we are able to gather together in person.

Please listen to her amazing voice, singing a prayer for all humankind. We're sharing this article on "Love in Action" in our enewsletter for two weeks, so as many people as possible can read the above quote and view the video, as we approach Earth Day (April 22).

Love is alive and breathing on planet earth!

Healing Thoughts # 3
“Jesus still lives in the spiritual ethers of this world and is in constant contact with those who raise their thoughts to Him in prayer. The promise was not an idle one that He would be with those who have faith in Him. ‘Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful. . . . I go away, and I come unto you.’ His body disappeared from our fleshly eyes because He raised it to its true place in the ether; but He can make his presence felt to anyone who looks to Him for help. ‘For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.’ If but two persons agree in their prayers and thoughts about Jesus Christ and His power to help, by sympathetic soul unity He instantly responds. ‘Amen, I say unto you, that if two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall as, it shall be done for them of my Father who is in heaven.’” – Charles Fillmore, in “Be Thou Made Whole” from Jesus Christ Heals, 1939, p. 11-12.
