This Sunday @ UCC: The True Handmaid's Tale - Leddy Hammock
|
|
Bitterness gets me nowhere.
I wander until I remember that God hears my prayers and guides me home.
I am not bitter or uncertain now. I am a royal child of the Most High destined for unlimited possibilities.
Even when it seems laughable to believe things will work out for me, I have faith that God’s plans for me are good. There is joy in my heart!
No one owns me. I am neither angry, bitter, exhausted, lost, or scared.
I am not timid or sad. I am energetic, fearless, and confident. I intend to survive.
I persist. I never give up. I only let go and let God, for my heart is the handmaid of the LORD. |

| | | | Thanks to DeGeorge Room Improvements!
|
| We received many compliments about the new flooring in the café and a few even mentioned that they want a floor "just like that" for their homes.
We don't usually advertise businesses in our eNews, but since several folks asked, we're sharing the info here.
The flooring was purchased and beautifully installed by:
DeGeorge Room Improvements 2436 FL-580 Clearwater, FL 33761 (727) 573-0338 DeGeorge Website
Contafct Owner Bob Miano and tell him you're from Unity!
PS. If the name sounds familiar, DeGeorge was the company that served as the drop point for the recent Puerto Rico donations

| | | October Heart of the House - Keir Walton
|
| As a child, he sang while listening to the radio or his mom’s Elvis records, and, at 12, his mother let him try out for Commercial Kids and Company in St. Petersburg. He sang “Doe A Deer” from Sound of Music. They let him sing it seven or eight times and even provided additional voice lessons. Keir Walton never got nervous, even in later performances at Disney World, and vocal lessons continued to adulthood.
Today, UCC’s Sunday morning audience enjoys the mature musical range of Keir’s powerfully projecting tenor voice as a member of the Unity band. In 2000, Keir’s aunt Sherry Dawkins introduced him to UCC. After hearing Leddy speak, he never went to another church, and, listening to the choir and Bill Barrett playing keyboard, he knew he wanted to sing here. After the service, in a successful solo audition, he sang “Stand By Me.” Some years later, he and his family brought his daughter Kassidy to Unity when she was less than a year old.

| | | We have a new database and we're working to make sure everyone's information is up to date.
Please check in at the welcome counter in the lobby after church, so that one of our helpers can make sure your info is current.
This will be an ongoing project, so stop by any Sunday that's convenient.

| | | | THE PROSPERING POWER OF THE SPOKEN WORD
“Dr. H. Emilie Cady [author of Unity’s basic text, after the Bible: Lessons in Truth] a homeopathic physician in New York City for many years, relates in How I Used Truth how she discovered the prospering power there is in spoken words.
For several years she tried to demonstrate prosperity in her practice on a free-will-offering basis, because of the great financial need of many of her patients in those days. For two years she worked at this prosperity arrangement. Though she had felt strongly guided to try it, it was not working out. One day, in desperation, she asked further divine guidance in the matter; and the answer that came was from the first chapter of Genesis, ‘God said, Let there be light: and there was light.’ She kept repeating over and over the words ‘God said.’ This helped her to see that she must speak words for prosperity.”
