Why Table Talk? Well, because that's one thing we miss during this time: sitting around a table in the café and talking together. The Table Talk will last about an hour. Feel free to drop in for a few minutes or spend the whole hour with us.
Each week, Deb will have a new topic and you will have the opportunity to learn something new about each other and to share your thoughts. You can choose to participate or just listen in, whatever is comfortable for you. It will be a fun time for all as we enjoy our Unity community and navigate a new normal of virtual social distancing and spiritual closeness.

Next week's movie will be "Under Capricorn" (1949) with Ingrid Bergman, Michael Wilding & Joseph Cotton
Under Capricorn is a 1949 British historical "thriller" film directed by
Alfred Hitchcock about a couple in Australia who started out as lady
and stable boy in Ireland, and who are now bound together by a horrible
secret. The film is based on the play by John Colton and Margaret
Linden, which in turn is based on the novel Under Capricorn (1937) by
Helen Simpson. The screenplay was written by James Bridie from an
adaptation by Hume Cronyn. This was Hitchcock's second film in
Technicolor, and like the preceding color film Rope (1948), it also
features 9 & 10 minute long takes.

Give One Day a Week, Make a Lifetime of a Difference

Neighborly/Meals on Wheels (MOW) Pinellas County urgently needs volunteers to deliver lunchtime meals to approximately 10 homebound seniors.
All it takes is 1 1/2 - 2 hours a week and your vehicle!
Shifts are weekdays from 10:30am to 12:30pm. Choose the day that works best for you and your location; we have nine throughout Pinellas County!

I am reaching out to nearby churches and high schools to share our volunteer opportunities.
Inspire is located on a beautiful 12-acre property, at the back of the neighborhood behind Belcher Elementary School;

Inspire Equine Therapy Program is a PATH International Member Center that focuses on Equine Assisted activities for teens (ages 10 and up) and adults with disabilities along with disabled veterans. We rely on volunteers to assist with each program, make our participants feel welcome and encouraged and to do general upkeep around the barn. Experienced volunteers eventually lead and help care for the horses.
I would like to invite your church youth leaders, activity directors, etc. to our monthly tour:
New and Interested Volunteer Orientation - Saturday, May 22 at 10:00 am
This tour and info session is for new volunteers and those interested in joining our team. We will tour the property, review the programs and go over rules and expectations. Then we will observe an adaptive riding class in progress and answer any questions you may have. Please park in the gravel lot in front of the house and meet us under the carport.
Feel free to bring any interested students. I am happy to sign any Bright Futures or other program forms after they have reached their goals for volunteer hours.

We're checking mail every day, so checks sent through the mail are fine, as are checks sent from your bank's online bill pay.
If you feel led you might consider setting up an automatic recurring donation. This can be done through your bank's bill pay or on the Church's donation form.
We've also been asked about the processing fees the church has to pay when the online form is used. The fees are a small percentage (3&-4%) of the total donation, however there is an option to cover fees that you may select if you feel so inclined. Every little bit helps and we're grateful if you decide to turn that option on.

UCC Contributes Monthly to Feeding Tampa Bay
|
|
| UCC continues to contribute to FeedingTampaBay.org. They have doubled their weekly meals distributed from 1 million meals to 2 million, establishing six weekly mega pantries serving nearly 10,000 families each week and converting their mobile pantries to a drive-thru model for increased distribution and safety. Message from "Rosie" on the organization's site: "I'm a full time caregiver to my husband, . . . . The food provided by Feeding Tampa Bay has helped us enormously. The meals are well balanced . . . and taste great! We really appreciate the help during this time." |
