Divine Love in a Nutshell
“He showed me a little thing, the size of a hazelnut, in the palm
of my hand, and it was as round as a ball. I looked at it with my mind’s eye and I thought, ‘What can it be?’ An answer came,
‘It is all that is made.’ I marveled that it could last, for I thought it might have crumbled to nothing, it was so small. And the answer came into my mind, ‘It lasts and ever shall because God loves it.’ And all things have being through the love of God.” “All shall be well and all shall be well and all manner of thing shall be well.” – Julian of Norwich

~1342-1416, Julian, Anchoress of St. Julian Church in Norwich, England, the first woman known to have written a book in Middle English, witnessed the troubles of the “Hundred Years War,” the Peasant’s Revolt, and the Bubonic (“Black”) Plague. After an intense spiritual experience at the age of thirty, she lived quietly and alone (except for her cat?) in a small cell built against the church (whose name she took on), spending her days in self-isolation and spiritual thought, writing her Revelations of Divine Love, now a timeless classic. Her little cell had three small windows: one to take part in the Mass; one through which a servant of the church attended to her simple needs, and a third where Mother Julian counseled and prayed with passers-by during the remaining forty years of her life.

Divine Love in a Nutshell – in honor of Mother Julian, by LH, Nov., 2020

The Silence in the small round seed—the Ground beneath the hazel tree,
the Good, my help in every need, holds everything God wants for me.
God’s will for me is only Good—My Father-Mother-Savior—Three-
in-One—my Good that never could forevermore abandon me.
Now in this One-ing, as I see the whole world mirrored from one cell,
safe-anchored in God’s love for me. So, all is well and shall be well.
Love’s Showings—even souls’ sweet mead—well-making, the Divine design,
Love’s Revelation in the seed: All shall be well. I will be fine.
Body Prayer created in honor of Julian of Norwich, 14th century

Leddy's Lesson: - Something Wonderful
Lyrics to “Something Wonderful” by Harold Payne

“Something wonderful, something wonderful, is happening to me, right here, right now.

I can feel it in my body, I can feel it in my soul, I can feel it in my heart, and it won’t let go . . . .

We all feel love inside. We can let it shine!

Something wonderful is happening to me, right here, right now. Something wonderful!”

Lots Going On
Although much of the work of the ministry is carried on by Russ and Leddy Hammock remotely, we are so grateful for all of our longtime helpers: Rick Preston, Dennis Carney, and Geoff Mackey, Phil Henne and Hannele Baker for tending to our Church home with such dedication!

In addition to their regular tasks, Rick recently reshingled the roof on the Gazebo behind Peace Cottage (see pic above - donated more than a decade ago by Rick's parents, Dorothea and Bob Preston) and replaced hose bibs around the main building.  Dennis also makes sure the building and grounds are in good order and removes materials to be recycled from our Youth Wing, where Geoff and his mom, Cynthia Mackey, have has been reorganizing; Hannele Baker tends to the Peace Cottage and keeps the deck there clear. Maria De Ree, our Financial Manager, looks after mail and accounts and of course, our Music Director, Sue Riley, assisted by Tim Burnaman, provide wonderful live music, serving along with occasional guest artists.

Tech Team members, Russ Hammock, Deb Frisch, and Pat Warren, with help from Mike Abdishi, facilitate our Zoom ministry.  The Reverend Judy Tafelski presents our ongoing Wednesday evening Faith Lift prayer time; Certified Truth Teacher, Cynthia Mackey, messages our WINGS group regularly and leads their Tuesday book-studies, with help from Deb Frisch and Geoff Mackey.  Board Member, President of Hospitality, Deb Larkin, hosts Zoom Social hours on Sundays and Thursdays at noon.  The Rev. Rob Hammock and our Ministry Team (helpers include The Rev. Judy Tafelski and Prayer Chaplain, Mary MacKenzie), are lovingly reaching out to keep our mailing list up to date, with help from Office Assistant, Karen Erickson and volunteer Sue Hammock. The Prayer Team also includes The Reverends Randy Schmelig and Magie Cook.  Our Property Assistant, Ricky Dudley, is standing by to help keep an eye on the property.  Our Board continues to keep in touch by email and phone and holds regular meetings by Zoom. UCC is alive and well, and at your service!

We serve together with all our hearts, one day at a time, for love of our Unity Family!

We reached into reserves to provide for necessary replacement of two of our (nearly 20 year old) a/c units (one for the Cafe and the other for the offices).  Unity teaches and practices tithing, so we are in the flow of our Good and trusting, day to day, week to week, and month to month, in God our Source.  We are grateful!
How You Can Donate
We still are getting frequent questions has been: "What's the best way to send an offering to the Church?"

We're checking mail every day, so checks sent through the mail are fine, as are checks sent from your bank's online bill pay.

The easiest option is our online donation form which can be found at: https://www.unityofclearwater.org/giving/

If you feel led you might consider setting up an automatic recurring donation. This can be done through your bank's bill pay or on the Church's donation form.

We've also been asked about the processing fees the church has to pay when the online form is used. The fees are a small percentage (3&-4%) of the total donation, however there is an option to cover fees that you may select if you feel so inclined. Every little bit helps and we're grateful if you decide to turn that option on.

UCC Contributes Monthly to Feeding Tampa Bay
UCC continues to contribute to FeedingTampaBay.org.  They have doubled their weekly meals distributed from 1 million meals to 2 million, establishing six weekly mega pantries serving nearly 10,000 families each week and converting their mobile pantries to a drive-thru model for increased distribution and safety.  Message from "Rosie" on the organization's site:  "I'm a full time caregiver to my husband, . . . . The food provided by Feeding Tampa Bay has helped us enormously.  The meals are well balanced . . . and taste great!  We really appreciate the help during this time."
Healing Thought # 36
“There’s an ancient Chinese aphorism . . . : If you keep in your heart a green bough, I have heard there will come one day to stay a singing bird. If you . . . keep in your heart green bough of expectancy, then you will come one day to actually experience the singing bird of health or the vision of health, overcoming, or the strength to overcome and affluence and the attracting power of substance, of love, of the confidence of loving change . . . . It’s looking out at life and seeing from the awareness of the allness of God, a kind of seeing that is a projection of a healing influence. For God is not someone to see, but a perspective by which to see . . . . -- the God potential within all persons, within you and me, that the kingdom of heaven has the greater possibilities of life, and it is possible for you and me right now. In other words, whatever you’re doing, you have something working for you, something working within you. You have the whole universe on your side. That’s something to remember. To believe this is to keep the green bough in your heart and there will come one day to stay a singing bird . . . . And if you believe that something wonderful is going to happen to you, if you can accept that it will happen to you right now during this hour and the hours or days to come, then something wonderful has already happened because you’ve touched a key level of consciousness . . . . In that moment, something wonderful has happened in you. You’ll never be the same again.” Lecture by Eric Butterworth, Unity of NYC, Avery Fisher Hall, ca. 1970’s.
OUR WEEKLY AFFIRMATION:

“I ALWAYS BELIEVE THAT SOMETHING WONDERFUL IS ABOUT TO HAPPEN.”
