This Sunday @ UCC:
Lesson Title: Ready?
From lyrics to “Get Ready, My Soul” by Daniel Nahmod:

“Everything I’ve ever done, everything I’ve ever seen, everything I’ve lost or won, everything I’ve ever dreamed, has brought me here to the present moment, here, to a new beginning, here and I’m seeing life so clearly now.”

“‘Cause here I go, deeper, deeper, deeper than I’ve ever been before.

Here I go, closer, closer, closer to my sacred Source.

Here I go, deeper, deeper, deeper than I’ve ever been before.

Here I go, close, closer, closer to my sacred Source.”

“Get ready, my soul. I’m divin’ in. Get ready, my soul. I’m divin’ in to the deepest kind of love, to the sweetest kind of life, Get ready, get ready, my soul.

Acclaimed musicians and recording artists Frances Pisacane and Jasmine Hart weave a tight musical tapestry from the sounds which have endured and entertained for over five centuries.

As an added bonus this year Frances' son Eugene will perform with them. Eugene is a champion Irish step dancer!

THE TABLE IS SET

“The Psalmist then goes on to decree:

‘Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of my enemies.’

In Bible times, a table was considered a place of feasting, rejoicing. Often the table was laden with an abundance of rich food. The table symbolized rich, visible results.

’In the presence of my enemies’ means right in the presence of changing conditions (which sometimes seem to be an ‘enemy,’ unless we have learned to passthrough them nonresistantly).

The Psalmist was here decreeing that as he passed through the apparent ‘enemy’ experiences of change and challenge, the rich, visible, happy results would manifest that would give him cause for rejoicing. Having this to look forward to make it easier for him to meet the challenges of the moment.

When you find yourself in what seems to be a time of challenge and change, in what seems to bean ‘enemy’; situation, you an decree that happy results will be forthcoming as you affirm, ‘Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of my enemies.’”
