This Sunday @ UCC: Radical Moms - Leddy Hammock
|
|
I do not let disappointment get me down. I watch for blessings and stay strong.
I give thanks in advance for double blessings! I do not settle for limits.
I bravely accept good ideas and I am unafraid of change. The walls of limitation come crashing down and swiftly set me free.
I speak sweetly and expect delightful outcomes, even when faced with seeming difficulties.
I am a good worker and a good friend and others are good to me. I am inspired by “radical moms!”
I am leaving behind me the life I have known. No matter how hopeless this journey may seem, don’t ask me to give up my dream! |

| | New Class Series: Unity 101
|
| | Tue, May 2, 9, & 16 7:00 PM Café
Join our Ministers (Associate Ministers, The Reverends Judy Tafelski, Rob Hammock, and Leddy Hammock) for this 3 session series about Unity.
No preregistration is required; all interested adults are welcome on a love offering basis.
We plan to offer the series twice a year, in Spring and Fall, so students in our Prayer Chaplaincy series can always take any missed sessions the next time around. No worries: "Homework" is easy and fun, and done in class together by students taking the class as a requirement for Prayer Chaplaincy or for personal enrichment.
I. 5/2: "Unity & History" – Lead Teacher – Rob, assisted by Judy and Leddy. Find out where Unity came from and how it developed!
II. 5/9: "Unity's Foundational Teachings" – Lead Teacher – Judy, assisted by Rob and Leddy. Learn about Unity's basic principles and how they work in our lives!
III. 5/16: "Living the Life" – Lead teacher, Leddy, assisted by Judy and Rob. Role playing and lively demonstration of practical prayer treatment! |

| | | | May Heart of the House - Karyn Lehman-Russo |
| She opens the café every other Sunday morning, faithfully attends the weekly prayer and meditation service, enjoys Peace Cottage workshops and Peace Chapel concerts, volunteers in the bookstore, assists on Service Saturday, and will be taking the chaplaincy program classes this month. In just two years, Karyn Lehman-Russo, realizing here her spiritual destiny, has assimilated naturally into a church home that took her a long time to find, she says.
Born in Jersey City, the 5th of 7 children, Karyn is one of four surviving daughters. She attended Catholic schools for 12 years, graduated from a New York career academy and worked in a hospital lab before coming to Florida in 1979. Here, she worked as a medical assistant, in customer service, as project manager for an air conditioning firm and, with a friend, later began a housekeeping service.

| | | | THE SECRET WAY TO ANSWERED PRAYER
“When your prayers have not been answered, it is often because you need to practice release–release of some person or situation, some financial or health problem. Often it is not an enemy you need to release but a friend, a relative–a husband, wife, or child. As you practice release, your problem is solved, your good is resurrected.
Forgiveness is a very important type of release, and a most important form of love. When you practice forgiveness, you experience the healing power of love. You must forgive injuries and hurts of the past and present–not so much for the other person’s sake as for your own. Resentment, condemnation, anger, the desire to ‘get even’ or to see someone punished or hurt, are things that rot your soul. Such attitudes fasten your troubles to you. They bind you to many other problems which actually have nothing whatever to do with the original grievances.”
(Catherine Ponder in The Prospering Power of Love [Unity School of Christianity, 1966]
Your Weekly Prosperity Affirmation: I FULLY AND FREELY FORGIVE AND RELEASE, FOR MY OWN SAKE AS WELL AS FOR THE GOOD OF OTHERS. THANK YOU, GOD!
