This Sunday @ UCC:
Opeing to Abundance - Melinda Wood Allen
There is no lack in Spirit. I praise and bless and use the good that I have.

I open up a space by making room for an increase of blessings in my life.

My blessings keep arriving as I keep opening up a space for them.

When I act on my faith, I get what I need and so much more!
Multi-talented Melinda Wood Allen is our special guest speaker this Sunday and will be talking about “Opening to Abundance”.

Melinda is a singer/songwriter/actress/choral director who performs in many genres, musical theatre to classical to jazz to gospel to folk.

She has performed with Fort Worth Opera, Southwestern Opera Theatre, toured widely with the Fort Worth Symphony’s Best of Broadway series, and joined the Texas tour of the Michael Martin Murphy Band, singing country music (and yodeling).

Her love of musical theater leads her to performing regularly at DFW venues including Circle Theatre, Stage West, Casa Manana, Jubilee, Hip Pocket, WaterTower Theatre and others.

Remembering Mary Beth Shaughnessy
Mary Beth passed peacefully in Hospice on Wed, Sept 24.

A Celebration of Life service has been planned for Sat, Oct 1 at 2:00 PM in the UCC Sanctuary.

We invite you to bring cookies to share in the cafe for a gathering afterward.

Those who wish to do so may contribute at the bookstore toward an engraved brick in her honor.
UCC Is Thriving Because of YOU!
It's exciting to take part in well-attended services here among positive people who feel at home with us!

Here's how you are creating a culture of WELCOME at UCC and helping us to grow by going out of your way to:

  •  introduce yourself to first time guests seated near you, asking their first names and telling them you hope they will come back soon!

  • going out of your way to say hello to folks carrying a blue "welcome bag," and offering to help them know their way around the church - with a smile!

  • taking care to stop by the round "Welcome Table" in the Café to speak with folks who are seated there especially to be greeted!

  • making sure to sit by someone new to you at every opportunity at UCC ("Saving seats" or claiming a particular place as "yours" because you're used to it would send a message that newcomers are not as welcome as "chums" or "the in-crowd" and may cause folks not to return. When someone asks, "Is this seat saved?" the best answer is, "Yes . . . for YOU! Please have a seat!"
Thanks for the many ways you express the UNITY WAY!

“Some years abo, I had an . . . experience that proved to me that there is nothing weak about love; that love can win more battles than fists or weapons; that love is our ‘secret weapon’ for successful results. I was asked to take a job as director of a nonprofit organization. It was a job that no one else wanted because there had been great inharmony in this organization. Along with the ill feeling that had been generated, financial lack had also appeared. It was not a job to look forward to, especially since this would be my first assignment after entering a new field of work. I had proper training for the job, but no experience. This hardly seemed a proper assignment for an inexperienced person, but it was this job or none for the present, so I reluctantly took it. [Good results came as I continued to affirm:] I give thanks that I am in my right place to prosper now And my “secret weapon” is love.
