| Dear Unity Family,
None of us knew, a year ago, that we would be meeting with circumstances like the ones we are meeting right now. And yet, the signal word here is that we are not just “facing” these circumstances. We are meeting them. Although we cannot yet meet in person at UCC, we are meeting in faith.
Your interest and faithful support as gifts of substance help to make
it possible for us to keep meeting our life lessons in faith, as we are
doing now. Thank you. Thank you and God bless you, each and every one.
When I was still in grade school, my mother, Leddy Irene Turner (called Irene), began to study Lessons in Truth
through the Unity Correspondence School to become a Licensed Unity
Teacher. The Unity Correspondence School teachers were the circle of
dedicated Unity students who had been personally taught by Unity’s
cofounders, Charles and Myrtle Fillmore. I still have my mother’s
notebooks, so neatly typed on an old manual typewriter (she told me, “If
you can type, Leddy, you will always be able to work.” So, thanks,
Mom.) I have her handwritten notes, too, in her careful penmanship.
Her teachers mailed sheets of “Annotations” – notes they had prepared to
accompany every lesson, to help students grasp the simple, yet powerful
lessons that have stood the test of time. Here’s a note from one that
speaks to me today: |
| “Lessons in Truth - Lesson 5 - Annotation 8
Can we make contact with our Source at all times and under all circumstances?
8. Yes, we can contact God, our Source, at any time because He dwells within as the loving Father-Mother, consequently we are never separated from Him. At times we may think that we are separated from God because adverse beliefs steal in and temporarily form a mental barrier that keeps us from the sense of oneness with our Father-Mother God, and from our manifest good. Two opposing thoughts cannot occupy the same mind at the same time, and if we would have good manifested in our life, then we must erase (deny) limited, wrong thoughts from our mind and use affirmations to bring us into conscious contact with God . . . at any time and under any circumstance by turning our entire attention Godward . . . . Once we may have thought that we could pray only when we were in a certain place or under certain circumstances . . . . [Jesus] was not referring to a place in the outer, but to a place within our consciousness, to the inner chamber of our own being. We shut the door by closing the mind to outer distractions, if only for a few seconds, and turn to the Father within. This contacting God may seem difficult at first, but if conscientiously persisted in, we grow in skill until it becomes natural, easy, instant, and can be done at any time, under all circumstances.” |
| So, my friends, if asked whether Unity Church of Clearwater is meeting yet, we can honestly say, “Yes, we are! We have never stopped ‘meeting’ -- whatever happens!” We meet every time we pray, and even in cyberspace, wherever two or more of us is gathered, the I Am is there in the midst of us. Thank you for upholding our life-saving Unity meetings!
Lovingly, Leddy |

This Sunday's Lesson: - Never Give Up
|
|
Lyrics from “This I Know” by Sloan Wainwright:
“Every breath, every beat of this heart, every sound, every silence, every sight, both inward and out, every thought in the balance -- never giving up, always letting go, every step has led me here, this I know. Every touch, every sweet embrace, every smile, from a stranger, every tear, upon this face, every shout, every whisper --
never giving up, always letting go, every step has led me here -- this I know. Time tells its story, time after time, as fast as my feet can carry me, all down the line. Every star that hangs in the sky, every tree that speaks my name, every petal that falls to the ground, every night that turns to day, never giving up, always letting go -- every step has led me here, this I know.” |

We still are getting frequent questions has been: "what's the best way to send an offering to the church?"
We're checking mail every day, so checks sent through the mail are fine as are checks sent from your bank's online bill pay.
If you feel led you might consider setting up an automatic recurring donation. This can be done through your banks bill pay or on the church's donation form.
We've also been asked about the processing fees the church has to pay when the online form is used. The fees are a small percentage (3&-4%) of the total donation, however there is an option to cover fees that you may select if you feel so inclined. Every little bit helps and we're grateful if you decide to turn that option on.

“. . . If you should come to the point where you feel like giving up, it is then you must hold on. Hold then steadfastly to the thought that God is with you and keep steadfastly on . . . God is with you! That is the truth. Keep it before you. Think it, affirm it, repeat it until you have fixed it indelibly in your mind and heart, until you feel it in the inmost fiber of your being. You will feel it. Be sure of that. You will feel it so clearly that you will never doubt it again. Then nothing you have to meet will ever seem overpowering again, for you will know that with you is something infinitely more powerful, something braver than any fear, stronger than any weakness, firmer than any wavering, wiser than any doubt. You will know that in you is the divine capacity to meet every situation, the wisdom to know what should be done, the strength to do it. You will know that with you is God, and knowing, you will never be alone again. God is with you.” – You Are Not Alone – Unity pamphlet by James Dillet Freeman. |
