| | | Thought you might enjoy this poem I wrote a couple of years ago in honor of all mothers.
OUR MOTHER, GOD,
Who makes earth heaven by giving us our earthly mothers
To carry us beneath their hearts, give birth to us,
and comfort us with Love,
HOLY SPIRIT MOTHER is Your name.
Your Household come. Your Ways be done.
Make us a Home on earth, here in Your healing heart.
Give us each day our Bread of Life –
the Substance of Your everlasting Love.
Forgive us our childishness
as we also learn to forgive all Your children,
growing up together in Your Wisdom.
Leave us not in loneliness for our earthly mothers,
who delivered us into this life.
But, deliver us – and them – from worries, war, and weariness
into everlasting Peace.
Kiss us and make us well,
for Thine is the Kindness,
and the Presence,
and the Grace, forever.
Thanks, Mom.

| Tech Team: Audio, Video, Lighting, Live-streaming & More
The UCC tech team primarily handles AV for the Sunday service as well as some pre & post production tasks and a bit of network maintenance.
Whether you feel tech savvy or not, the tech team has positions for you to serve. So, don't be scared away from volunteering because you don't feel qualified.
Btw, one perk of helping out on the tech team is you get to enjoy the Sunday service from the best seat in the house.
You can visit the media loft and talk to the team members on any Sunday. The stairs to the loft are outside the east side of the sanctuary. C'mon up and see us!

| There she is, right first row on Sunday mornings at UCC, the lady of many hats, this past Easter wearing an original design, a dark pink floppy straw number with teeny decorative Easter eggs dangling from its wide brim. She is a traveler and a collector, of hats, handbags and backpacks.
But, it is probably her email moniker, mepoet2, that most succinctly reflects the greatest passion of the illimitable Karla Wright. Karla is a poet and proud of that destiny. She thinks she may have inherited her talent from a grandfather that she never really knew, although she has read and appreciated his works. In high school, the encouragement of an English teacher propelled the direction of her writing to creating poetry. Then, as now, she favored a flowing, free verse style.

Golden snowflakes
“God is not confined to that form of substance which we term matter. God is the intangible essence of which [humanity] has formed into and named matter. Matter is a mental limitation of that divine substance whose vital and inherent character is manifest in all life expression.
God substance may be conceived as God energy, or Spirit light, and ‘God said let there be light, and there was light.’. . .
God is substance, not matter, because matter is formed, while God is the formless. God substance lies back of matter and form. It is the basis of all form yet does not enter into any form as a finality. Substance cannot be seen, touched, tasted, or smelled, yet it is more substantial than matter, for it is the only substantiality in the universe. Its nature is to ‘sub-stand’ or ‘stand under’ or behind matter as its support and only reality.
Job says, ‘The Almighty shall be thy defense, and thou shalt have plenty of silver.’ This refers to universal substance, for silver and gold are manifestations of an everywhere present substance and are used at symbols for it . . . . You have doubtless in your own experience caught sight of this everywhere present substance in your silence, when it seemed like golden snowflakes falling all about you. This was the first manifestation from the overflow of the universal substance in your consciousness”
