Lesson Title: Love Your Inner-Mes
Inspired by lyrics to “With Love in My Heart” by Tim Burnaman

I am not glad when someone who has hurt me is hurt.
I treat others as I want to be treated.

When I have felt hurt by others, I forgive.
Now, joy heals me and brightens up my day,
showing me how to let go of anger and hurt.

In time, life reveals how I can show the inner strength that I know:
With love in my heart, I give love away and love comes back to me.

With love in my heart, I give love away.
Yes, it all comes back and makes a better day.
I know that now’s the time to start letting go of fear,
with love in my heart.
Hebrew & Torah with Rabbi Baseman
Begins Thur, Jan 30
7:00 PM
Café

Hour Hebrew with Rabbi Baseman is an informal, relaxed class for beginners that helps us to understand the language of the scriptures Jesus knew.

It’s fun to learn a new alphabet! It keeps the mind sharp and helps us put aside the worries of the day and, besides, you will be able to leave notes around your house to keep your loved ones guessing about what you’re up to. Also, just think: if you can learn to read Hebrew, what ELSE might you be able to learn — like, maybe calculus!

THEN, enjoy about 45 minutes of Torah study, learning more about the scriptures Jesus knew. Discussion helps to bring light to ancient Bible mysteries. Take, for instance, the Book of Job, where you’re likely to see yourself and discover that your story is not so new, after all.

We have deep, fascinating discussions and we learn a lot, and we relate to timeless human struggles and we laugh hard, too, just like in first grade.
Sunday Go To Meeting - Annual Meeting that Is

The Always Interesting, Worth Being Late for Lunch, I Wish I Would Have Attended in Years Past, Really Very Important Annual Business Meeting :-)

Each year we hold a membership meeting to discuss the past year’s performance and stewardship, to honor outgoing Board Members and to welcome new ones, and to share plans for the coming year.

The meeting won’t take too long and good attendance is important for a successful meeting!
Meet Our New UCC Minister Emeritus
In 1981, Leddy and Randy Schmelig, who had been serving at Unity Christ Church in St. Petersburg (now called Unity Church of St. Petersburg) were elected by a large majority of our voting membership to lead the ministry here.

Subsequently, Randy founded Unity Church of Palm Harbor and then was called to lead the ministry at First Unity Church of St. Louis, where he served for twenty-one years. Randy and his dear wife, Faye, retired in Palm Harbor, where she passed peacefully last spring

Delighted that Randy has been attending UCC whenever possible, Leddy proposed to our Ministry Team and Board of Directors (who expressed unanimous and enthusiastic approval) that Randy be invited to accept the title of Minister Emeritus at UCC.

The Reverend Randy graciously accepted and will be installed in our Sunday service on Sunday, February 23, the day of our Annual Meeting.

Welcome Home, Reverend Randy!
Bible Awards
A Keepsake Bible for Youth Ministry Students!

As soon as we have at least three school age Unity students who have attended Youth Ministry classes here at least ten times during twelve months, their teachers here will be happy to plan with their parent(s) a Sunday in which to plan to include a short ceremony during the beginning of our Sunday Worship service to honor these excellent and dedicated students with a brand new, personal keepsake New American Bible, as a lovegift from Unity Church of Clearwater, inscribed with their names and the date of the award, for their lifelong use and remembrance.

Please see our Youth Ministry Coordinator and Certified Truth Teacher, Cynthia Mackey for more information.

Heart of the House - Don Simon
Don Simon, criminal justice attorney since 1989, has graciously accepted the nominating committee’s invitation to become a candidate to serve on Unity’s Board of Directors. His introduction to UCC, initiated by his wife Jennifer, is easily etched in memory; it was in 2003 following the electrical fire that resulted in tent services in the church parking lot.

Born in California, Don moved with his family to Pinellas County in 1969 because of his dad’s job at Honeywell and the space program. As a kid, he got to watch many space launches, including the Apollo 13 launch. Most family members still live in the Tampa Bay area. Don graduated from Seminole High School, received a degree in criminal justice at USF and earned his law degree at Stetson University. He has devoted his entire 30 years of practice to clients needing help in the area of Criminal Law and Personal Injury, serving first as a prosecutor and then in private practice as a defense attorney. He has handled thousands of cases ranging from simple to complex. Fortunate to have established a solid reference base, he can primarily rely on direct mail and repeat business and is always available to consult on legal issues at AttorneyDonSimon.com

Come join our Kindred Spirit group for an evening of good music, dancing and great food!

The Straight Up Blues Band is super fun to listen to and Finley's has wonderful food, so stop by Friday for a great evening!

The band starts at 8:00 PM, so plan on arriving around 7:00 for dinner. It's easier (quieter) to eat and order before the band starts playing :-)

“In order to have understanding of the law through which we gain or lose in the use of the invisible substance, we must use discrimination or judgment. There is a guiding intelligence always present that can lay hold of and make our own. It is ours. It belongs to us and it is our birthright both to know it and to use it. Some metaphysicians mistakenly think that they must have hard experiences in order to appreciate the better things of life. They think poverty is a blessing because it educates people to the appreciation of plenty when they get it. They say that it is God's will for us to have some hard times and some good times, feasts and famines. This is not logically true when you consider God as Principle. If you think of God as a man who arbitrarily gives or withholds by the exercise of His personal will, you might reach such a conclusion. But God is changeless, and if He gives one moment He will continue to give eternally. It is His nature to give, and His nature is eternally the same. When you talk of hard times, famines, lack, you are talking of something that has no place in the Mind of God. You are not acknowledging God in all your ways but are acknowledging error and affirming that the world has its source in outer things. You must turn around and get into this consciousness, that in Mind, in Spirit, there is abundance.”

(Charles Fillmore Cofounder of the Unity Movement in Prosperity [1936] -- Lesson Three: Faith in the Invisible Substance, the Key to Demonstration).
Your Weekly Prosperity Affirmation:

“I KNOW THAT IT IS GOD’S NATURE TO GIVE. I ACKNOWLEDGE GOD IN ALL MY WAYS IN THE CONSCIOUSNESS THAT IN CHANGELESS SPIRIT-MIND, THERE IS ABUNDANCE.”

THANK YOU, GOD!
