This Sunday: Last Sunday to Let Go
“I’m letting go of holding on. God is my shepherd, I shall not want. I’m letting go of holding on. Seeking first the kingdom of God.

I let go of the feelings that feed on lack and greed. I let go of the reasons keeping me in need.

I let go of the fear that there’s never enough. And I stop holding on, to what is not love. We breathe in, we breathe out, it’s all give and take. They’re one with each other, for all of goodness’ sake.

The loaves and the fishes were blessed then released and barely enough, turned into a feast . . . . I’m letting go of holding on, seeking first the kingdom of God.”

We don't have a mask mandate at UCC. However, because UCC is pro-children and pro-families, we are encouraging vaccination for those who are eligible and asking folks to wear masks when near others indoors.

We are pausing our Pre-K childcare and nursery for the time being, in the interest of safety and well-being for all. We will all get through this together.
For now, let's do fist or elbow bumps and Namaste instead of hugs!

What is Emotional Freedom Tapping (EFT)

Your body is more powerful than you may imagine, filled with life, energy, and a compelling ability for self-healing.

Like acupuncture and acupressure, Tapping is a set of techniques that utilize the body’s energy meridian points. You can stimulate these meridian points by tapping on them with your fingertips, literally tapping into your body’s own energy and healing power.

Gather with a great group of positive and supportive folks with healing in mind!

New UCC Board Member Grant Dansby
Message from Leddy:
Our Board of Directors was so delighted that Board Member, Ed Marinacci, was willing to step down from the Board in order to serve as UCC's Space Planner, where he can share his marvelous career experience with our Church at a time when he's simply indispensable. Our Board was also delighted that former Board Member, Grant Dansby, was willing to step up and complete Ed's term on our Board. What an amazing team we have!

Message from Grant:
When Grant Dansby, returning member of Unity’s Board of Directors, is asked “where are you from,” he’s likely to answer “the world.” Having been born into a military family, he was blessed to have lived in Greece, Japan and many states before moving to Orlando in 1968. Eventually, his family moved to Colorado where he graduated high school.

Grant says he felt at home everywhere he went. He has had many different jobs in the states he’s lived—worked in a grain elevator, a bird seed plant, a laundry, was a shoe department manager, sold magazines door to door and worked in a carnival long enough to be called a “carny.” In 1984, he started his own carpet cleaning business, and, in 2008, he began repairing and refinishing furniture. Today, the owner of MasterTech Furniture Repair in Largo, he is certified by The Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration, (IICRC) as a Master Textile Technician. He is also certified as a wood and leather repair technician by Mohawk and Leather Master, respectively.

In 1989, Grant came to the Tampa area. Here, his daughter Camille was born. ”I determined to give her something I never really had. Roots,” Grant says. Also wanting Camille to have a church home, Grant joined The Unitarian Universalist Church of Tampa, where he served on the Board of Directors for two years. Searching for Spirit’s presence in his life, he found UCC in 2006.

Because he loves to sing, Grant joined the UCC choir. Under Sue Riley’s leadership, he discovered an exciting experience. A journey to Unity Village with Sue and others for a Sound Connections and Posi Week “changed my life,” Grant says. "As well as soaking up the workshops and the music, I went walking in the woods of that magical place, and communing with the deer in the early morning made a mark on my soul.”

In February 2017, Grant married Jocelyn, “the love and light of my life” at the Tampa Posi Music Fest. The couple was married by Leddy and enjoyed the special blessing of Sloan Wainwright singing “Live Out the Best of Your Life."

Looking back “to what locked me into this church,” Grant credits the music. “With people like Greg Tamblyn, JD and Jan, Sloan, Daniel Nahmod, Tom Kimmel and all the marvelous souls that come to share their positive and loving music, you will always find me here at Unity of Clearwater.” I am looking forward to seeing them in person again!

I'm glad to serve our congregation for the next year as we transition into our new church home. It will be exciting for all of us!
How You Can Donate
We're checking mail every day, so checks sent through the mail are fine, as are checks sent from your bank's online bill pay.

The easiest option is our online donation form which can be found at: https://www.unityofclearwater.org/giving/

If you feel led you might consider setting up an automatic recurring donation. This can be done through your bank's bill pay or on the Church's donation form.

We've also been asked about the processing fees the church has to pay when the online form is used. The fees are a small percentage (3&-4%) of the total donation, however there is an option to cover fees that you may select if you feel so inclined. Every little bit helps and we're grateful if you decide to turn that option on.

Healing Thought # 91
“Some of us said that if there were no Christmas, we would have to invent one. Because it has been, and always has been, a tremendous breaking up of the shell of humanity, facing small glimpses of the divinity . . . . Christmas is like an oasis in a strife-torn world. Talk to a person who will say he doesn’t realize the depth of the spirit within life, he says, ‘What’s the world coming to?’ . . . . If only he could look up in childlike wonder . . . he’ll say not, ‘Look what the world is coming to,’ but ‘Look what is coming into the world’” (Eric Butterworth, a 1970’s Christmastime message in a sermon lesson at Avery-Fisher Hall).
OUR WEEKLY AFFIRMATION:

“WE LOOK UP IN CHILDLIKE WONDER AT THE EXPRESSION OF DIVINITY THAT IS RIGHT NOW COMING INTO THE WORLD.”
