Want to learn more about Unity? This is the class for that!
Join Associate Minister, Judy Tafelski, for a new class series, Lessons in Truth, based on the same title of the book by Dr. H. Emilie Cady. Lessons in Truth and the Bible are Unity’s two primary textbooks.
Unity Co-founders Charles and Myrtle Fillmore published the original series of Lessons in Truth by Dr. H. Emilie Cady in Modern Thought, the origin of Unity magazine.
Renowned poet Maya Angelou, who received the first honorary doctorate presented by Unity Institute, said Lessons in Truth changed her life. Dr. Angelou was introduced to Unity while studying with a voice teacher. They met weekly to read from Lessons in Truth.
She said: “I read from a book called Lessons in Truth…’God loves me’.” Her teacher asked her to read that same line three times; on the fourth read, she read “with ferocity-forceful: God. Loves. Me.” Dr. Angelou goes on: “And, at that moment, I knew it. I knew it! I thought, ‘God? That which made bees and mountains and water? That? Loves me? Maya Angelou? Well then, there’s nothing I can’t do. I can do anything good…fifty years later, I could weep with joy at the knowledge that I am loved by Love itself.”

| | | A Thought about Contagion from the Unity Point of View

Yes, we do have hand sanitizers at Unity Church of Clearwater and yes, we do encourage hand-washing and general good caretaking of the Body Temple. We are not fearful of so-called contagion. We trust in the mighty wisdom of the Most High to guide us in ways of science and of scientific prayer to overcome any seeming contagion. We know that God did not create disease. Therefore, whatever we may encounter or hear about on the news , we hereby affirm that COURAGE IS MORE CONTAGIOUS THAN FEAR.

Success through mind power
“In order to demonstrate Principle we must keep establishing ourselves in certain statements of the law. The more often you present to your mind a proposition that is logical and true the stronger becomes that inner feeling of security to you. The [human] mind . . . is built on Truth and the clearer your understanding of Truth is the more substantial your mind becomes. There is a definite and intimate relation between what we call Truth and this universal substance of Being. When the one Mind is called into action in your mind by your thinking about it, it lays hold of the substance by the law of attraction or sympathy of thought. Thus the more you know about God the more successful you will be in handling your body and all your affairs. The more you know about God the healthier you will be, and of course the healthier you are the happier, more beautiful, and better you will be in every way. If you know how to take hold of the universal substance and mold it to your uses, you will be prosperous. Mind substance enters into every little detail of your daily life whether you realize the Truth or not. However, to establish yourself in a certain security in the possession and use of universal life, love, intelligence, and substance, you must get a consciousness of it by first mentally seeing the Truth
