The family of our longtime Minister Emeritus, Gwen Cohenour, is holding a graveside service at Sylvan Abbey this week for the immediate family and will plan a Celebration of Life to be held at UCC after a Sunday service when the timing is right for us to gather together there again.
For now, messages for the family can be sent to Leddy at info@unityofclearwater.org; she will forward them to Gwen's family.
We bless Gwen on her Infinite Way. |

Burning Bowl - by Leddy Hammock, at the close of 2020
I now release the worn-out past. I’m ready to begin: Create in me a clean heart, at last, and renew a right spirit within! Let the fire of Truth catch old idols of wood and burn up doubt and fear! Let go the past, lay hold of the good, right now, for this New Year!
I am free from the past, mistakes of the past, and results of errors gone, Setting paper aflame with all I could name that kept me from moving on. Saying, “This is no longer a part of my life. It has no hold on me, For the cleansing Light of the Love of Christ forever sets me free.”
In the light of the Christ understanding, I am loosed of yesteryear, And ready to enter a “bettering,” where I am free and clear. I now meet and accept, affirm and express, my good in a higher phase. “The past is a bucket of ashes,” left to rest in the “yesterdays.”
As I turn and leave the past behind, I feel such a sense of relief For having let go of the burdens I know were heavy beyond belief. As smoldering yet was the last regret of all that I’d worried about, I walked away with a spring in my step, for those embers were finally out.
We’ve left behind the error that the old self would allow. Let’s move into a future born of a grander here and now. When we’ve forgotten yesterdays and learned how to forgive, We feel the lift of the gift of praise and then we’ll really live! Oh, let there be a new accord for all of humankind And let us be transformed, O Lord, by renewal of the mind. Oh, let us all illumined be, let all be well and whole, As we let go of enmity in the glow of the burning bowl. |

Leddy's Lesson: - Happy New Me & You
|
|
Inspired by lyrics to “If You Want To Be Happy” (Words and music by Sloan Wainwright, Sue Riley, Jana Stanfield):
“Don’t believe all that you think – if you want to be happy.”
“If you want to be happy, be careful what you say. Resist the urge to criticize when things don't go your way.
You can't make yourself feel better putting other people down. Remember words can hurt you when they come back around.”
“Focus on the things you have, not what you haven't got – if you want to be happy.”
“Give up control.” “Trust the Mystery – if you want to be happy.” |

Thursdays
12:00 PM
Bring your lunch and let's get together and chat!
Board Member & President of Hospitality, Deb Larkin is hosting a weekly Zoom "Table Talk Thursday" call so we can see each others faces and hear each others voices.
Why Table Talk? Well, because that's one thing we miss during this time: sitting around a table in the café and talking together. The Table Talk will last about an hour. Feel free to drop in for a few minutes or spend the whole hour with us. Each week, Deb will have a new topic and you will have the opportunity to learn something new about each other and to share your thoughts. You can choose to participate or just listen in, whatever is comfortable for you. It will be a fun time for all as we enjoy our Unity community and navigate a new normal of virtual social distancing and spiritual closeness.

Folks are still asking: "What's the best way to send an offering to the Church?"
We're checking mail every day, so checks sent through the mail are fine, as are checks sent from your bank's online bill pay.
If you feel led you might consider setting up an automatic recurring donation. This can be done through your bank's bill pay or on the Church's donation form.
We've also been asked about the processing fees the church has to pay when the online form is used. The fees are a small percentage (3&-4%) of the total donation, however there is an option to cover fees that you may select if you feel so inclined. Every little bit helps and we're grateful if you decide to turn that option on.

“The restrictions of yesterday have no power to overshadow our lives today, when we realize that we are in the eternal now. Let us begin our day with newness of thought and courage. Let us at the beginning of the New Year throw the doors of our hearts and homes open to the new. The ‘newing’ process comes first in mind. ‘Be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind” (Romans 2:12) . . . . Looking with this inner sight we behold the angel of the new, where to the outer eyes there is mere common condition, or common experience, and the new comes forth into manifestation . . . . (Myrtle Fillmore, How To Let God Help You). |

OUR WEEKLY AFFIRMATION:
“I WELCOME A NEW YEAR AND A NEW LIFE -- A LIFE OF RENEWED WISDOM, WHOLENESS, ABUNDANCE, AND HARMONY, AND I NOW DECLARE A HAPPY NEW ME AND YOU!”
THANK YOU, GOD!
