This Sunday @ UCC:
Faith Lift - Leddy Hammock
If I start feeling “blue,” I give myself a little time – prayer time – to get ready for my “faith lift.”

With sunny days and beds of roses, it’s easy to pretend for awhile. But when I can’t keep that “painted on smile,” I get ready for a “faith lift.”

I know that God always hears me. I trust and rest in Spirit for my “faith lift.”

If I start out feeling “down,” I make time for healing prayer and I give thanks in advance for the “faith lift” that always comes!

Defying standard categorization, singer/songwriter Sloan Wainwright, consistently demonstrates her easy command of a variety of American musical styles — pop, folk, jazz and blues — held together by the melodious tone of her rich contralto, with the end result being a unique and soulful hybrid.

Her family tree (brother and folk-music luminary Loudon Wainwright, nephew Rufus Wainwright, nieces Martha Wainwright and Lucy Wainwright Roche) reads like a who’s who of contemporary folk music. Sloan’s incredible gift is not only her unique songwriting ability but also her dramatically voiced rendition of original songs.

“She’s folk influenced, but the real star here is her voice. Warm and smoky and smooth, it makes her earthy, ominous lyrics seem all the more intense.”

April Hearts of the House - Mary & Richard Fisher
Rich and Mary Fisher of Weimar, CA and Largo, FL, on average, spend about six months in each state. Of the couple’s six children, one son lives in Eugene, OR, a daughter and son-in-law live next door in Weimar, and the others are all in Florida. There are 12 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Rich’s family moved to Florida in 1954 and lived on Gulf to Bay, and Mary, who was born in Atlantic City, came here, where she met her future husband, in 1977. They were married at sunrise on Oct. 22, 1981 at Philippe Park in Safety Harbor. In 2006, they moved to Hawaii and lived on the Big Island, eight miles from an active volcano. Recalling their time there, Rich and Mary noted that seniors were viewed as a source of knowledge, guidance, and inspiration to the next generations. They cited the term Kupuna, widely understood to mean elder, grandparents or elderly persons and considered the embodiment of natural respect.

THE POWER OF GOOD WORDS TO RESURRECT YOUR HAPPINESS

“Lowell Fillmore [the eldest son of the Cofounders of Unity] has described the resurrecting power of joyous, happy words:
‘Good words . . . bring happiness and prosperity into our life . . . . Let your conversations be composed of words that are filled with the constructive vitamins of Spirit . . . . So when you have anything to say, say it for goodness’ sake.’

Just as nature is coming alive at this season through the expression of beauty and joy, you can bring back to notice, to use, to life the divinity within you through the expression of beauty and joy. Express the resurrecting power of love often by affirming:
Through the power of Christ within me, I can be as wonderful as I want to be! I pour out upon my body temple the oil of love and clothe it in garments of praise. I appraise my mind, body, and affairs as good. I appraise others as good as I affirm for them:

(Catherine Ponder in The Prospering Power of Love [Unity School of Christianity, 1966]

Your Weekly Prosperity Affirmation:
THROUGH THE POWER OF CHRIST IN ME, I CAN BE AS WONDERFUL AS I WANT TO BE.
