Please God by LH, Autumn of Corona, 2020
When I have worked so hard and really tried, waited so long, wanted so much, and cried,
to have my own way, then I say, “Please, God! Please!”
And yet, how dry and frail a doubting prayer that wishes God might hear or maybe care,
weakly I plead: God, hear my need? “Please, God! Please!”
Is there a better bargain to be made, a higher price that somehow must be paid?
What must I do to hear from You?—“Please God, Please!”
This human mind, how desperately despairs, though loud my pleas and many are my prayers,
none can incline God’s moves to mine – “Please, God! Please!”
I know I cannot bend God’s thoughts to mine, or change in any way the Grand Design.
What peace I find to lift my mind – “Peace, God’s peace.”
I stop and think: “I know my God knows best, The best that I can do is let it rest.” So, quiet, then, I say, “Amen” -- at ease, for God is pleased. |

Our Thoughts Are Prayers - Words & Music by Lucille Olson
Our thoughts are prayers, and we are always praying. Our thoughts are prayers, take charge of what you're saying. Seek a higher consciousness, a state of peacefulness, And, know that God is always there and every thought becomes a prayer. |

Thoughts and Prayers - in the election year of 2020, in the fall of Corona, LH
"Thoughts and prayers," we say, when we mean well but, truth be told, don't know what else to say. except we care and want to try to tell someone we're here and will not turn away.
What kinds of thoughts and prayers, they want to hear, can help us now, when all our hope is gone? Thoughts that make things, not empty thoughts of fear. Not begging prayers, but prayers of holding on.
What kinds of prayers? What good can they do me? For, where was God when my world came apart? Repair the world. Pray, "Here I Am, send me!" Thoughts that are prayers start healing in the heart. |

This Sunday's Lesson: - Let It Go
|
|
Lyrics to “Empty Hands” by Daniel Nahmod
“When my hands were empty, when my hope was gone. I couldn’t help but wonder, what had I done wrong?
But even though my heart was broken, there was no need to despair. Cause a vessel must open, to put something better there . . . .
So forgive me when I doubt it (although sometimes I do), or consider giving up (when I cannot see the Truth). I know I’ll never go without Your deep and abiding love.
|
|
Into my empty hands, gently You poured new life for me. Yours is a perfect plan, the ups and the downs were meant to be. Now, I understand. You needed my empty hands . . . .
And I cannot help but cry to think of the gifts You’ve given me. Now, I understand. You needed my empty hands. Thank You for my empty hands.” |

We still are getting frequent questions has been: "what's the best way to send an offering to the church?"
We're checking mail every day, so checks sent through the mail are fine as are checks sent from your bank's online bill pay.
If you feel led you might consider setting up an automatic recurring donation. This can be done through your banks bill pay or on the church's donation form.
We've also been asked about the processing fees the church has to pay when the online form is used. The fees are a small percentage (3&-4%) of the total donation, however there is an option to cover fees that you may select if you feel so inclined. Every little bit helps and we're grateful if you decide to turn that option on.

H. Emilie Cady in How I Used Truth, Lesson 6 (“Hand of God”), Annotation 10:
Blessings of every kind, in mind, body, and affairs, come to us when we consciously serve as the ‘hand of God.” The very act of giving opens our mind to the Truth of all life . . . . Serving consciously as the ‘hand of God,’ we share divine substance with others, and such giving causes our affairs to show forth more prosperity, success and harmony . . . . However, we cannot serve as the ‘hand of God’ and distribute God's bounty until we ourselves have been consciously filled or blessed. This is why our prayer periods -- those precious times of communion with God -- are so vital. It is during our times of prayer (Silence) that we receive the infilling of God's blessings, so that we in turn are able to give and thus be a blessing to others …. We are never ‘empty-handed,’ for, as we have learned, we are heirs to God's riches in the form of divine ideas. We may claim good for ourselves and symbolically ‘hand’ it to others, as the blessings of health, plenty, peace, harmony …." |
|
Your Weekly Affirmation:
“I OPEN MY EMPTY HANDS TO GOD IN PRAYER AND, IN THE SILENCE, I FEEL THE INFILLING OF DIVINE WISDOM, WHOLENESS, ABUNDANCE, PEACE AND GRATITUDE THAT OVERFLOW INTO ALL MY EXPERIENCE.”
THANK YOU, GOD!
