Grandpa Hammock loved the old rocking chair he'd inherited from his father and he knew the words to this old, old gospel song:

"Oh, you can't get to heaven in a rockin' chair --
That rockin' chair won't take you there,
Ain't gonna grieve My Lord, no more."

God holds us all in heavenly love right now, knowing that all humankind is grieving together. God knows, grieving is a part of healing. God knows we are "rocking" our way to a more peaceful place.

As Father's Day approaches, we can just see Grandpa Hammock in that rocking chair and recall his comforting voice and presence with us. We feel that our Father God is cradling us through the current grieving process and we listen for His loving guidance, gently urging us not to speak in anger or blame, but to bless and speak love.
“Speak Love”
by Leddy Hammock, Sr. Minister, Unity Church of Clearwater
in the Summer of the Coronavirus, 2020

True thoughts lift up, as though with angel wings,
To lighten heavy hearts, releasing burdens carried long.
True thoughts form words sweet as an angel sings.
Ideas so pure can’t keep from taking flight, light as a song.
Speak love. Speak only love.

Speak love, and all will hear and understand,
For no one can deny that God is love. The wise have learned:
Speak love, the human heart hears the command
That Spirit always gives: the highest good to all concerned.
Speak love. Speak only love.

Wherever you speak love, you can make peace.
And when you need it, you will always find the faith to cope.
Your loving words can cause conflict to cease.
When others have lost heart, the words you’ll say to them bring hope.
Speak love. Speak only love.

“Love speak” makes us more gentle and more kind.
We’ll tell the Truth, not harshly, never giving in to hate,
Stay teachable and keep an open mind.
We’ll bear all things, believe all things, be strong enough to wait.
Speak love. Speak only love.

Where love is spoken, anger cannot last.
“Be still,” Love says, to that confusion; “Quiet!” to that fear.
A great calm settles in when anger’s past.
And in the Silence, we’ll give thanks, for love is spoken here.
Speak love. Speak only love.
This Sunday's Lesson Title: - Dad's Chair
Inspired by the lyrics to Sue Riley’s beautiful song, “Grandpa’s Hands”:

The nature of the Father, seated in our heart of hearts, is to hand good and only good to all who turn to Him.

The kingdom of all divine ideas is at hand, and it is our Father’s loving kindness and everlasting joy to hand the kingdom to all His children.

I am safely held in the hands of the infinite loving Father. I watch what my Father is doing and I do as He shows me. The Father and I are one.

The Father indwelling, our Loving Creator, seated in the Most High in every one of God’s children, is saying, “Watch the Father’s hands. Do as I do.”

In Celebration of Juneteenth - June 19, 2020
Juneteenth: also known as Freedom Day, Jubilee Day and Cel-Liberation Day, is an American holiday celebrated today, for on this day in 1865, the Emancipation Proclamation that was issued by President Abraham Lincoln on January 1, 1863 in the United States was finally read to enslaved African Americans in Texas, the last state of the Confederacy to have the proclamation publicly declared.

The proclamation declared "that all persons held as slaves" within the rebellious states "are, and henceforward shall be free."

“Although the Emancipation Proclamation did not end slavery in the nation, it captured the hearts and imagination of millions of Americans and fundamentally transformed the character of the war. . . . The Emancipation Proclamation confirmed their insistence that the war for the Union must become a war for freedom. It added moral force to the Union cause and strengthened the Union both militarily and politically. As a milestone along the road to slavery's final destruction, the Emancipation Proclamation has assumed a place among the great documents of human freedom.” – National Archives

This week, we also celebrate another milestone in the journey of human freedom:

LGBT rights advocates rejoiced at the sweeping decision of the Supreme Court Monday that protects gay, lesbian and transgender employees from being disciplined, fired or turned down for a job based on their sexual orientation. Unity people -- Truth students everywhere -- affirm the supremacy of Divine Law concerning the Golden Rule (taught in both the Gospels and the Torah) as the foundation of the freedom of individuals for self-expression: You are a child of God with a right to be yourself.
Congratulations Seth
The tall and handsome Seth Buttice, who grew up attending our Church with family and was a member of our Youth of Unity for quite awhile, just graduated from Dunedin High School and has won a scholarship -- his college baseball team can't wait to welcome him!

We want to share with you the personal message he included in his graduation announcement because it's so great:

"I entered the world in the wake of 9/11.
I graduated in a pandemic.
I understand celebration will have to wait, I am ok with that.
I am not waiting for movement ...........
I am ready to act on my dreams.
I am ready to work my plan.
Kentucky Christian University .... I am on my way.
Please continue to send positive thoughts and prayers."

How You Can Donate
We still are getting frequent questions has been: "what's the best way to send an offering to the church?"

We're checking mail every day, so checks sent through the mail are fine as are checks sent from your bank's online bill pay.

The easiest option is our online donation form which can be found at: https://www.unityofclearwater.org/giving/

If you feel led you might consider setting up an automatic recurring donation. This can be done through your banks bill pay or on the church's donation form.

We've also been asked about the processing fees the church has to pay when the online form is used. The fees are a small percentage (3&-4%) of the total donation, however there is an option to cover fees that you may select if you feel so inclined. Every little bit helps and we're grateful if you decide to turn that option on.

Healing Thoughts # 12
“We must become as a little child. . . . The supreme realization of [hu]man[kind] is [our] unity with God. Jesus had this realization and proclaimed it . . . . Send out your freeing thought to others as well as to yourself. . . . We must realize the unity of the [human] race in Christ and include all people in our forgiving” (Charles Fillmore in Jesus Christ Heals).
Your Weekly Affirmation:

I AM A CHILD OF GOD. YOU ARE A CHILD OF GOD. COME, LET US FREE ONE ANOTHER, HONOR ONE ANOTHER, LOVE ONE ANOTHER, AND HEAL TOGETHER.

THANK YOU, GOD!
