Something Wonderful
Something Wonderful Happening
- by LH, December, 2020

You say life's moved along at an even pace;
You were not really up for any breakthroughs.
For a real long time, you'd been out of the race
And just not expecting any real news.

You were only going through the motions.
Many dreams had already gone up in smoke.
But here comes a consciousness commotion:
Your sleepy life just got woke!

*Nothing is too good to be true.
That impossible good now comes to pass.
Nothing is too wonderful to happen to you,
And nothing is too good to last.

Remember the dream of a distant star,
With a light glowing brighter every day.
One step at a time, you have come so far,
Because it's guided you along the way.

This Power makes a way out of no way,
When the intellect says, "How can this be?"
When life lights up, then you have to say,
"Yes, I can feel it happening to me!"

*Nothing’s too good to be true, I see
That impossible good now come to pass!
Nothing is too wonderful to happen to me,
And nothing is too good to last.

*Inspired by the affirmations of Florence Scovel Shinn
This Sunday:
Leddy's Lesson: - A Stable Christmas
“In Bethlehem a manger waits, long ago and so today, where hatred-weary people pray Love will come and lay there. And so do countless stables stand in hearts as harsh as desert lands, rough shelters in the wind and sand, so Love will come and stay there –.

Love that opens fists of hate, heaps of gold on beggars’ plates, love that shows a kindly face to enemies and strangers. And walls of stables tremble so when winds of fear and judgment blow.

For a stable hopes in Love alone and knows that Love’s the answer.  Oh, Love, the prophets’ only word, the only lesson left to learn, the only end of heaven’s work, and the only road that goes there —

Love that sees with mercy’s eyes, holds its arms out open wide, threads its loom with separate lives and weaves them all together.
So, may the lamps of stables glow brightly lit that light may go
for miles in the darkness, so Love will find its way there.”

Table Talk Thursday
Thursdays
12:00 PM

Bring your lunch and let's get together and chat!

Board Member & President of Hospitality, Deb Larkin is hosting a weekly Zoom "Table Talk Thursday" call so we can see each others faces and hear each others voices.

Why Table Talk? Well, because that's one thing we miss during this time:  sitting around a table in the café and talking together. The Table Talk will last about an hour. Feel free to drop in for a few minutes or spend the whole hour with us.

Each week, Deb will have a new topic and you will have the opportunity to learn something new about each other and to share your thoughts. You can choose to participate or just listen in, whatever is comfortable for you. It will be a fun time for all as we enjoy our Unity community and navigate a new normal of virtual social distancing and spiritual closeness.

How You Can Donate
We still are getting frequent questions has been: "What's the best way to send an offering to the Church?"

We're checking mail every day, so checks sent through the mail are fine, as are checks sent from your bank's online bill pay.

The easiest option is our online donation form which can be found at: https://www.unityofclearwater.org/giving/

If you feel led you might consider setting up an automatic recurring donation. This can be done through your bank's bill pay or on the Church's donation form.

We've also been asked about the processing fees the church has to pay when the online form is used. The fees are a small percentage (3&-4%) of the total donation, however there is an option to cover fees that you may select if you feel so inclined. Every little bit helps and we're grateful if you decide to turn that option on.

UCC Contributes Monthly to Feeding Tampa Bay
UCC continues to contribute to FeedingTampaBay.org.  They have doubled their weekly meals distributed from 1 million meals to 2 million, establishing six weekly mega pantries serving nearly 10,000 families each week and converting their mobile pantries to a drive-thru model for increased distribution and safety.  Message from "Rosie" on the organization's site:  "I'm a full time caregiver to my husband, . . . . The food provided by Feeding Tampa Bay has helped us enormously.  The meals are well balanced . . . and taste great!  We really appreciate the help during this time."
Healing Thought # 37
“Metaphysically, Jesus stands for spiritual awareness in [hu]mankind. The entire Christmas story has a metaphysical meaning. Jesus is born in a stable and laid in a manger, and metaphysical symbols of stable and manger refer to basic human nature, or human consciousness. So, the metaphysical meaning of Jesus being born in a stable and laid in a manger is that spiritual awareness is born right within our own individual human nature. Not born outside of ourselves, not born on the spiritual level, it comes from the spiritual level, but it is born into the area of strictly human awareness and faculties. It is here, not on a higher point, but here in our basic human nature where it must first be merged and perfected” (The Reverend Ed Rabel, Unity Ministerial Program, 1960’s).
OUR WEEKLY AFFIRMATION:

LET MY OWN HUMAN NATURE BE A STABLE SETTING FOR THE BIRTH OF THE SPIRITUAL AWARENESS OF THE CHRIST.

THANK YOU, GOD!
