This Sunday @ UCC: Love Is My Energy - Leddy Hammock
|
|
Let God’s clear light shine through a gray mood like a rainbow through the clouds.
First comes the rain. Then comes the rainbow – sign of the healing energy of Love.
Let the floodgates of heaven open up. Let cleansing thoughts pour down like rain and wash away all hurt and fear.
Rain today. Rain today. I am energized, knowing that the sun still shines and brings the rainbow back again. |
| | Video: We Remember - Sue Riley & Roger Tomhave
|
| | We Remember was written by Sue Riley and Roger Tomhave, and dedicated to the men and women who gave all in the service of their country, and whose names are etched in stone on the Vietnam Memorial.
Though it's focus is on the Vietnam War, the thoughts shared in the song remind us of all the heroes who gave their lives for their country.

| | | | | | By request, below are the seven consolations that Leddy used in her talk two Sunday ago.
When something happens that you didn’t see coming and would rather not see at all:
First consolation: Even if a challenge seems to be unwanted, it has come to pass. It is not permanent.
Second consolation: Even if this is not a change you wanted, at least it will teach you something.
Third consolation:
There are no accidents. The sooner we take responsibility for
“signing up” for this self-improvement course, the quicker we can get
through it.
Fourth consolation: even if this change brings sorrows, sorrows will fade. Joy will come, too, and no one can take your joy away from you.
Fifth consolation: Thoughts held in mind reproduce after their kind. If you don’t like the circumstances of your life, change your mind.
Sixth consolation: Since your thoughts make things, you can now consciously design a future that you will welcome.
Seventh consolation:
Life is a school. You are learning. God is divine law, but God’s
nature is also divine love. It’s going to be okay. Better than ok.
What we DO see coming is good and only good.
“It is true that the
world and the human experience will always be full of change. It is
true that no one of us has a crystal ball in which to read our future.
But with God as our foundation and prayer as our sustenance, we can move
forward with joy, optimism and excitement to meet whatever the future
holds. Those of us who know this Truth are very blessed, for in the
words of Jesus, our Way-Shower, this Truth will make us free.” — Connie
Fillmore, former President Unity School of Christianity and
granddaughter of Charles and Myrtle Fillmore, co-founders of Unity |
| | | | THE WAY THROUGH GETHSEMANE
“In the pamphlet The Way through Gethsemane, Cleda Rayner points out that since other persons are children of God, there is really nothing to forgive. They have not really failed us, or disappointed us, or let us down, or shamed us. They may have stumbled while crossing our pathway. But they were [children] of God who had temporarily lost their way. If they crossed our pathway, it was because they needed and wanted our blessing. They were unconsciously looking to us to be steadied and set right.
Our progress has not been hindered, no matter what they did or did not do. They did not, they could not, keep our good from us. They crossed our path by divine appointment, even though they seemed to hurt us for a little while. When people bother us in any way, it is because their souls are trying to get our divine attention, and our blessing. When we give them that, they no longer bother us. They fade out of our lives and find their good elsewhere.”
(Catherine Ponder in The Prospering Power of Love [Unity School of Christianity, 1966]
Your Weekly Prosperity Affirmation: NO ONE AND NOTHING CAN KEEP MY GOOD FROM ME. I SAY TO SEEMING OPPONENTS: “YOUR GOOD IS ELSEWHERE. GO QUICKLY NOW.” THANK YOU, GOD!
