Hi Everyone,
I hope everyone is having a good week so far. Quite exciting news that the vaccinations are open to everyone 16 and over as of yesterday, woohoo!! I also saw that about 4 million people a day in the US received doses on both Friday and Saturday! I continue to say that these vaccinations are our path to freedom.
That reminds me of what I was thinking about, last Sunday, when Leddy was talking about the rolling away of the stone in front of the tomb where Jesus’ body had been placed. That brought to my mind the idea of the stone representing limit and the rolling away by the action of Spirit representing the limitlessness of God! God is unlimited and the Christ is unlimited.
There was an excellent reading in the Daily Word last month on the topic of freedom and limitlessness. The affirmation was, “I am free and unlimited in my mind and in my life.” The reading goes on to say that we are meant to soar. “I am made in the image and likeness of God and my soul is meant to soar.” This is a powerful affirmation and a powerful way of thinking. Affirmative thought and prayer open me to higher wisdom and infinite possibilities. I can learn to respond to life in new and different ways which will bring exciting new outcomes. I do not need to let outer circumstances dictate my state of mind.
However, these wonderful promises do not happen by wishing them so or by being in denial about what is happening around us. Oh, no, there are definite things we must do. In Charles Fillmore’s book, Prosperity, he reminds us, in the chapter “Overcoming the Thought of Lack,” that our mind is like the fisherman’s net catching all manner of ideas every day. However, the fisherman would then go through the nets and cast back into the sea the items that were not usable. It is the same with our minds. We must separate the good ideas from the not usable concepts. Jesus, knowing this, gave us a parable in which He explains this process as separating the sheep from the goats. The sheep represent our good, loving, obedient and profitable thoughts and are placed on the right; the goats, our stubborn, selfish, useless thoughts, are placed on the left. Each of us must do the work of handling our own thoughts. This is a process of aligning with the harmony and order of divine thought. Fillmore goes on to remind us that “old thoughts must be denied, and the mind cleansed in preparation before the affirmative Christ consciousness can come in.” As we go through this process, we will see that within us are the great potentialities of Spirit that enable us to be and do as the people that God wants us to be and do.
This is just a light discussion of these ideas and more is, of course, covered in the entire chapter which I recommend reading. I have found that the undertaking of “re-programming” my lifelong habits of thinking is no small undertaking, but a highly rewarding one. Little by little, anyone who takes on this mighty (but sometimes painfully slow) process will begin to see marvelous results. Remember – the pain is always in the resistance to change, whether it be inner or outer change!
Bless all of you as we begin to see the changes taking place as our society begins to awaken from our year of “sleep.” We get to choose – endless potential or painful resistance! Think limitlessly – freedom is at hand!
