Our UCC congregation is somewhat in transition, and it’s been a wild ride!
On 2/22/2022, our Board directed UCC to enter into a carefully negotiated agreement with Galaxy Education/Discovery Academy of Science for the school to purchase five of our seven acres for the amount that Southcrest Management (contractor) had negotiated to cover the full cost of building our new Church Home according to our concept and sharing the parking lot, with shared easements for access.
After negotiating and agreeing on a construction contract, Southcrest informed the church that they would require an additional $1.2 million to complete our project, over and above the agreed-upon purchase sale price. The church declined the additional amount and Southcrest abandoned our agreement. UCC secured a new contract with Custom Bldg. Solutions. Last April, UCC submitted all requirements to the City for our construction permit, which we believe the City should be ready to approve as soon as the required tree work is completed on our site by Southcrest.
For the past two and a half years, our staff has worked remotely and our Sunday services have been hosted by either Congregation Beth Shalom, Temple B’nai Israel, or the UU Church across the street, and as UCC is a tithing Church, we shared our tithes with these faith communities. We are most grateful for the welcome of our longtime Interfaith Partners and also to Discovery Academy, that hosts our Sunday services without cost.
UCC’s furnishings are still in three storage units, and there is little room for storage here. Every Sunday, our amazing team of volunteers sets up and then resets the cafeteria for each school week. Discovery is a positive and purposeful school for over 750 students, grades 1-8, and wants to be a good neighbor to UCC. During this next season, we believe we will see our permit cleared, our foundation built, and the walls coming up for our new Church Home, on the shores of Peace Pond, on the west side of the campus.
Our Sr. Minister has just been invited by Rev Amy Kindred of UU and Rabbi Michael Birnholz of Temple B’nai Israel to work with them to establish interfaith activities in our neighborhood, going forward! Yay!

This Sunday: Leddy Hammock - What You Seek
|
|
Lyrics from “What I Seek Is Seeking Me” by Sue Riley and Jana Stanfield,
“The whisper that I hear in my heart, telling me it’s time to start To set my inhibitions free, become the ‘me’ I’m here to be.
So, I’ll act brave as if I am, act ‘as if’ until I can, live each day as though I know that What I seek is seeking me, even when that’s hard to see
I choose faith, so I believe, that what I seek is seeking’ me.” |
|
*Our Reverend Sue Riley, Minister of Music, with Leddy this past Sunday
|
|
Last Sunday's Shining Words:
If you know me, then you will also know my Father. From now on you do know him and have seen him’” (Jn. 14:7).
I am not weak. I am not helpless. I am not fear. I am not judgment. I am whole. I am worthy. I am the way of God. |

Your body is more powerful than you may imagine, filled with life, energy, and a compelling ability for self-healing.
Like acupuncture and acupressure, Tapping is a set of techniques that utilize the body’s energy meridian points. You can stimulate these meridian points by tapping on them with your fingertips, literally tapping into your body’s own energy and healing power.
Gather with a great group of positive and supportive folks with healing in mind!

About Unity's Winged Globe
|
|
|
|
|
We're checking mail every day, so checks sent through the mail are fine, as are checks sent from your bank's online bill pay.
Your gifts to Unity Church of Clearwater are tax deductible as allowed
by law. Our life-affirming work is supported by the loving and generous
offerings of friends like you. Please give as your grateful spirit
leads you. You can also support Unity Church of Clearwater by leaving a
legacy of prayer and hope in your will or estate plan. Right now,
right where you are, you are blessing this ministry through your loving
thoughts and you, also, are blessed.
If you feel led you might consider setting up an automatic recurring donation. This can be done through your bank's bill pay or on the Church's donation form.
We've also been asked about the processing fees the church has to pay when the online form is used. The fees are a small percentage (3-4%) of the total donation, however there is an option to cover fees that you may select if you feel so inclined. Every little bit helps and we're grateful if you decide to turn that option on.

“Hold fast to God and He will add every good thing. Seek God and you will find Him and all good with Him. To the man who cleaves to God, God cleaves and adds virtue [resources of power and strength] and, that what you have sought before now seeks you.... Everything comes to him who truly comes to God bringing all divinity with him while all that is strange and alien flies away” - Meister Eckhart, Dominican Catholic Priest, born in Germany in 1260. |

OUR WEEKLY AFFIRMATION:
"I HOLD FAST TO GOD AND GOD ADDS EVERY GOOD THING TO MY LIFE, RIGHT NOW!"
THANK YOU, GOD! |
