| | | | Hello, Unity Family! Unity Strong!!
We are together in prayer with all who have experienced damage and stress through the recent storms. We give thanks for the "faithful fifty" or so who tuned in for our livestream service last Sunday morning, which a core team of brave folks were here to help us present while we still had internet and phone service, even while we were technically under mandatory evacuation orders at the time. Thanks also to the stalwart key team members who are helping us "put the church together again" as well as possible since the storm. We have sent tithes to encourage relief workers and other Unity ministries who were affected, too.
Since, as of this moment, our Church internet, phones and cell service have not yet been restored, the Hammocks have been keeping the Church office open during the day and into the evenings. On Tuesday, we held our WINGS meeting and Rev. Judy's Tuesday evening class, and we will be there this evening in the office during Wednesday prayer service and band rehearsal.
When internet and cell service is restored, we will have to reboot lots of devices, so thanks for your patience. If we are not able to livestream our Sunday service this week, please know that we hope to see you in our Sanctuary! For those who cannot be here in person Sunday morning, we will record and archive the service so you can watch it later on the website, barring unforeseen technical glitches. Onward!
We have some trees and branches down on the grounds and the blue awning was downed by strong winds. The Peace Cottage gate was broken by strong winds. Repairs are planned. Please note the schedule below for changes. Remember, Unity strong!
THIS SUNDAY'S LESSON ON TITHING (AS PLANNED FOR MANY WEEKS) IS INSPIRED BY ERIC BUTTERWORTH'S CHAPTER ON THE TOPIC IN SPIRITUAL ECONOMICS. jUST SO YOU KNOW, UCC REGULARLY TITHES 10% OR MORE OF ALL CHURCH INCOME TO HONOR SPIRITUAL WORKS AND WORKERS THAT FEED OUR WORLD SPIRITUALLY, REGARDLESS OF OUR CHURCH EXPENSES OR COSTS OF STORM REPAIRS. WE TEACH AND PRACTICE TITHING, AND WE KNOW THAT SPIRITUAL PRINCIPLE WORKS WHEN WE WORK IT. WE GIVE THANKS IN ADVANCE, FOR WE KNOW THAT GOD IS OUR SOURCE!

Tithing means freely giving a tenth of all that I receive to spiritual works and workers – wherever I find them – and I am always blessed in return.
Tithing to God and God’s workers reminds me that God is my instant, constant, and ever-present Source of all good.
I tithe cheerfully, remembering that God is my Source of all good, and I am blessed many times over!
The good that I give away in the form of tithes and love offerings returns to me multiplied: pressed down, shaken together, and running over, and I always have more than enough.

| | | | Heart of the House - Sherry Dawkins
|
| Long-time member of UCC, Sherry Dawkins, executive assistant at Assurant, a Fortune 500 company in St. Petersburg, was born on Long Island but grew up in the hills of Virginia, swimming in the summers and skating in the winters on a nearby lake. She moved back to Long Island and went to high school there. A member of a musical family, she was active in chorus and chorale and still enjoys singing and playing guitar. Sherry’s father played piano and clarinet by ear; her grandmother, a classical pianist, went to Julliard, and nephew Keir Walton is a popular soloist in the Unity Music Ministry.
Raised Catholic, Sherry says that her spirituality evolved when she was young. She came to Florida in 1993, to Unity shortly thereafter, and has never looked back. She loves the values of the Unity church, and “Leddy has a style beyond compare,” she says, “she makes it look so easy, seamless…and she brings in the audience.”

YOUR GUARDIAN ANGEL
“When challenges arise, say to yourself: ‘I have nothing to fear. My guardian angel goes before me, making right my way.’ Decree it for others. A businesswoman was concerned about having to make an out-of-town buying trip, which required that she drive two hundred miles in rain and fog, accompanied by her ailing husband, whom she could not leave at home alone. A friend said, ‘You have nothing to fear, because your guardian angel will be with you.’
Upon returning from the buying trip, she said to her friend; ‘It did seem that we were accompanied by an angel. As I drove out of town, within a few minutes the sky cleared of fog, the rain stopped, and the sun shone through. There was no more bad weather on the entire trip. The drive helped my husband’s spirits and he suffered no ill effects from it. Financially, this proved to be the most profitable buying trip I have made in a long time.’”
