Truth conquers terror . . . . Prayer brings peace
Special Mid-week Meditation Service this Week

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has." Margaret Mead

"For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them." (Jesus Christ in Matthew 18:20 NIV).

"The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it" (John 1:5 NLT])

"Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that." -- Martin Luther King, Jr.

All the seeming darkness in the world cannot put out the Light, for the darkness has no substance, life, or intelligence of its own. As individuals and as a great nation, we rise up in hope and vision for a future where Love rules.

This Wednesday evening at 7:000 PM, be with us in person or in Spirit as we gather together for guided meditation, prayerfully affirming understanding and release, healing and comfort, guidance and peace, for all.

We turn to the Light in Unity and behold a brighter future, a stronger and more peaceful world for all people. This is our way, the Unity way.
This Sunday @ UCC:
Yes Father! - Leddy Hammock
(Inspired by lyrics by John Stringer)

We are all God’s children, and God, our Father, is our instant, constant, everywhere present Source of all good.

I say “Yes” to the Father.

God, our Father, is Love.

Father, I say “Yes” to Your love.

Father, I know You know the plans to prosper me, give me hope and a future and I say “Yes.” I surrender. I say, “Yes.”

Father, I say “Yes” to Your love.

Wednesday Service NOT Recessing for Summer!

Wednesdays
7:00 PM
Peace Chapel

Prayer is the foundation of the Unity movement and of Unity Church of Clearwater.

The Wednesday evening service features guided meditation, silence, and prayer.

Meditation is the process of listening to the “still, small voice” of God within us. Affirmative prayer is the highest form of creative thought and includes the release of negative thinking as well as holding in mind statements of spiritual truth. The contemplative nature of entering into the silence allows people of like mind to share the power of sitting in the silence together.

We invite you to join us! This is an opportunity to connect with community and raise the consciousness of oneness that is at the core of our Unity teachings.

Let us lift our consciousness to new heights through prayer and meditation, and help heal ourselves and our world!

Requests for Poems Leddy Read on Sun, June 5
This past Sunday, Leddy read The Prayer of Faith and her adaptation of the traditional bedtime prayer. She received several requests for them, so here they are. Enjoy!

The Prayer of Faith by Hannah More Kohaus

God is my help in every need;
God does my every hunger feed;
God walks beside me, guides my way
Through every moment of this day.

I now am wise, I now am true,
Patient and kind, and loving, too;
All things I am, can do, and be,
Through Christ the Truth, that is in me.

God is my health, I can't be sick;
God is my strength, unfailing, quick;
God is my all, I know no fear,
Since God and Love and Truth are here.

Traditional Bedtime Prayer adapted by Leddy

Now I lay me down to sleep.
I know my Lord, my life does keep.
There is no death, no loss, no fear,
since God and Love and Truth are here.
Heart of the House - Dennis Carney
The well-known and well-liked Dennis Carney is a fixture in the Unity Café team, setting up to serve the Sunday morning coffee klatch that gathers for food and fellowship before or after the weekly service. His popularity, however, transcends his kitchen mission. Dennis is one of those people, perhaps rarer than not, who shows a sincere interest in other people. Tolerance and humor are his natural virtues.

Born in Columbus, Ohio, Dennis stayed in the Buckeye State until, he says, someone told him he was allowed to leave. That facetious permission came in the form of a job opportunity in Florida. He had worked for an electronics firm for 30 years and looked forward to working and retiring in the Sunshine State, but the Oldsmar firm that hired him also released him after five months, a recession layoff. Not living here long enough to establish a network, Dennis says that in 2001 he got into a real funk, but, beating depression, he was hired as a furniture salesman at Rooms to Go outlet and, would, eventually, retire. He is now a part time security guard and realtor.

LOVE PROSPERS A SALESMAN

“Financially, an attitude of love is worthwhile, too. A traveling salesman who was heavily in debt attempted to get a loan from a bank to pay off his debts. Because he lacked collateral, he was not able to get the loan. He began to affirm, ‘DIVINE LOVE PROSPERS ME NOW.’ Within a few days he made a large sale and was able to pay off all his debts, with money left over.”
