Salams. We thought we'd help out. Sending some useful links below.
A list of jobs (still) hiring is coming soon. Meanwhile... How do you stay sane in lockdown?
|
| #1 Turn to Allah for purpose
“Indeed, we have created everything, perfectly preordained.” [Quran, 54:49]
Yes, we know, WE KNOW. Your spouse wants attention, your parents need help, your kids want to play with you. And you are likely working from home or frantically searching for jobs. Still, everything is from Allah. There is a reason for everything. This is the time to talk to our Creator. He will guide us to our purpose.
|
| | #2 Reclaim your life
“Actions are by intentions” (Sahih Bukhari)
After purpose comes action.
Starting from scratch is scary. Try this: Productive Muslim has put together a free set of printable Islamic planners. Check them out here. |
| | #3 Take care of your family
“Each of you is a shepherd, and all of you are responsible for your flocks.” (Sahih Bukhari)
You and your family are likely mentally and emotionally strained at the moment.
How do I explain COVID19 to my kids? How do I isolate with my abusive spouse? What do I do if my parent has tested positive?
You are not alone with these questions. Here are some Australian mental health support contacts, trained to help: |
| | #4 Take care of others
"None of you truly believes until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself" (Sahih Bukhari)
National Zakat Foundation is on the front lines helping the most vulnerable members of our community here in Australia. Many people are stranded: international students who lost all income, family violence victims, the elderly, the families of the deceased.
Due to the pandemic, NZF has issued an official appeal to everyone who has not paid their Zakat yet to do so, even if it is not your Zakat anniversary yet.
You can pay Zakat here. You can apply to receive Zakat here. |
| | #5 Be prepared
"Every soul shall taste death." [Quran 2:185]
We pray everyone is safe during this time. Still, to the few families who have lost their loved ones the experience has been devastating.
Burial, children’s custody and inheritance are never easy. During a pandemic, it’s even harder as many institutions are closed or disrupted, and extra restrictions apply.
Online Islamic Will service Wasiyyah reports that their sales have surged. To encourage Muslims to make their wills online, they offer $50 off your Islamic Will Online until the end of pandemic here.
