Subject: You’re invited! A Cappella Retreat

You're invited to a 3-day singing retreat!

Hello Friend! Robert Lee here. It's been a while, hope you're well. I have a new opportunity to share, and think you might be excited to hear about it!

Some quick updates - I'm still in the SF Bay Area, living in Daly City these days. Over the past 2 years, I’ve:

  • Spent the pandemic in Hong Kong, where I met my fiance, started The Vocal Gym and Learn Vocal Harmony.

  • Since coming back to the US, invested in my own groups - Ro Sham Bo and The A Cappella Collective, both of which are now back and thriving

  • Sharpened my skills as a director and facilitator, most notably presenting at the Los Angeles A Cappella Festival

  • Ran many retreats for directors and my own groups

The last year has affirmed to me that retreats are magical experiences! Even in the context of post-pandemic trepidation, I've found more connection and musical fulfillment in the last year than any other period of my life. The dedicated time and space allowed us to truly connect with each other and engage deeply in the music.

I finally feel like the formula is right, and I'm excited to share this experience with all of you.

In this 3 day retreat, you will:

  • Be in a professionally-led a cappella group (with me as your director!)

  • Learn my system for learning, polishing, and recording a full custom arrangement

  • Star in a professionally edited and mixed song & video

  • Meet other singers who may be interested in collaborating further

  • Unplug and reset at a beautiful Spanish villa outside Sacramento

A few quick clarifications:

This is not an audition, everyone will have a chance to participate. I’m looking to put together cohorts at similar experience levels so that the arrangements are the right difficulty level, singers will learn at a similar pace, and that folks are singing parts that are suitable for their voice.

Also - while prior experience is probably helpful, you don't need to know how to read sheet music. I will be creating audio learning tracks for each person, so you can learn your part by ear if that suits you better.

Robert
