In this article, we look at the earliest evidence of the Maturi family in Pinzolo (Val Rendena) and how some branches expanded into various places in Val di Sole (specifically Mezzana, Cavizzana, Caldes).
Among the many things we'll explore, we'll take a look at the fascinating life of 'outlaw-turn-archbishop' Antonio Maturi (1686-1751), and a brief nod to the late Hollywood actor, Victor Mature. We'll also see how the Maturi are related to other famous Trentino families (such as the Borzaga and the Onorati), and we'll discover the tragic tale of a young Maturi man who disappeared one night, and his body was found 20 miles from home on his 22nd birthday.
