Subject: Star Wars vs Copywriting

Tell me if you remember this scene from Star Wars: The Force Awakens:

Our hero, Rey, has been captured by the dastardly forces of the First Order.

They’ve got her locked up in a holding cell. Under surveillance by a plasma rifle-toting stormtrooper with a bad attitude.

Things don’t look good.

So Rey does what any aspiring Jedi would do in a sticky situation: she uses the Force.

Well, tries too, anyway.

With all the confidence of a toddler taking her first wobbly steps, Rey squeaks out:

You will remove these restraints and leave this cell with the door open”.

It’s obvious Rey doesn’t believe in herself just yet. And the results show it.

Her stormtrooper guard barks back:

I’ll tighten those restraints, scavenger scum!

Yikes.

As entrepreneurs we deal with sticky situations as a way of life:

Getting more (or your first) clients.

Gaining the interest of investors for a new business proposal.

Figuring out how best to connect with your market to sell more of your goods and services.

When you’re not confident in your ability to meet these challenges, life is as stressful as staring down the barrel of an angry stormtrooper’s plasma rifle.

Fortunately, as entrepreneurs we have a version of the Force at our disposal.

What is it, you ask?

Copywriting.

Copywriting is just persuasion in print.

The right words, to the right audience, can free you from the restraints of wondering where your next client will come from… or a poorly converting sales page… or investors who won’t return your emails.

Would you like to write better copy?

Would you like to gain attention, hold interest, and compel action with every blog post, email, web page or sales letter you write?

I’ve spent the last couple of weeks creating a free resource that will put Force-like powers of persuasion at your fingertips.

PS: Did our hero Rey finally escape the clutches of the evil First Order?

You bet she did!

When Rey confidently told her stormtrooper guard to undo her restraints and high tail it outta there, the guard complied.
