“Easy reading is damned hard writing.” -- R.L. Stevenson
(Or possibly Maya Angelou, Nathaniel Hawthorne, Lord Byron, Anthony Trollope, and a bunch of other writers.)
That’s one of my favorite writing quotes.
And I think one of the reasons it’s attributed to so many different writers is because it’s so damn true.
As a writer, sometimes (okay, a lot of the time) getting an idea down in clear, easy-to-read prose feels like trying to get an elephant into a bikini:
Difficult, time-consuming and the results oten aren’t pretty.
If you know the feeling (of wrestling with your writing; not wrestling a pachyderm into swimwear) then you need to sign up for this email list pronto.
This is Kim Krause Schwalm’s email list.
As you may know, Kim is one of the top copywriters on the planet.
And whether your a copywriter, indie author or blogger, you’ll learn a ton from Kim’s weekly email.
That’s because every week Kim analyzes a piece of writing (usually a sales letter but not always) to show you why it works and how you can apply those lessons to your own writing.
And if you’re looking for advice on how to make your writing engaging and easy-to-read, Kim is one of the best teachers around.
Oh, and in case you’re wondering...
No, I don’t get any kind of kickback for promoting Kim.
I’ve just been so WOWED by her emails these last few weeks that I head to let you guys and gals know about it.
Coolio?
Cool.
Then go here to sign up for Kim Krause Schwalm’s email list.
And if you want to hear Kim rap poetic about what it takes to become an A-list copywriter, check out my interview with her here.
Stay hungry and keep hustling,
Paul
P.S. -- Let me know what you think of Kim’s emails. My guess is you’ll be as impressed by them as I am.
