Subject: How to find the treasure hidden in your business

I have 3 updates for you this week.

1. The Big Idea

Before World War II, skim milk -- made by removing milk fat from milk -- was not sold in stores.

Instead, it was thrown out. Or, used to feed chickens, hogs, and calves. But then dairy producers had an idea.

They started marketing skim milk as a “healthier” milk. Today, skim milk is a nearly $10 billion a year industry -- and growing.

That’s a lot of dosh for something people used to throw away!

I think most businesses (including our own) are loaded with “skim milk” opportunities. Most businesses have assets that are overlooked, under-appreciated, or straight up ignored. And identifying and activating these assets can be very profitable.

One way to identify these hidden assets is by looking at what comes easily to you. Because if something comes easily to you, then you’re almost certainly undervaluing it.

For me it’s public speaking. That’s difficult for most people. But for me it’s easy, fun, and probably very profitable if I were to incorporate it into my business.

2. Food For Thought

“The best way to get a good idea is to get a lot of ideas.”

Bob has been a very successful freelance copywriter for nearly 40 years. In fact, the publishing house McGraw-Hill calls him “America’s top copywriter”.

Dude is a living legend. And in our interview, Bob shares his secrets for freelance success.
