| Hello Friend....
I'm going to share a story with you, it applies to all of us.
Summer of 1995, I'm 16 years old...Shy, rocking big glasses and just the usual fumbling bumbling teenage guy around the Ladies. I was in the program so during the summer I spent 6 weeks at a college. It was nice. First day I'm there I see a young lady, boom...I'm in love. Up until that point she was the prettiest woman I ever laid eyes on...do you HEAR ME??? I was smitten.
I go back to my room. I lay there for two hours thinking how do I get this girl to notice me. Listen up until that point I had one girlfriend. It lasted two weeks. So experience wasn't on my side. Formed a plan in my mind, had my strategy worked out. First week nervous as a turkey in October but I muster up a few words to her.
2nd week people boom here we go...It was raining outside so me and her played in the rain...That was my opening..I was in love then.lol..as love as a teenager can be right. Listen, some days you don't forget...that's one of my mind. I kept thinking oh boy I think I'm doing something right. My friend who lived in the same town as me saw me one day during breakfast and said I see you Kid working that magic...Ahhhh listen this guy had more success actually going on dates and hanging out with Ladies than I did so I took it as a compliment. 2nd week ends the Corner has turned. Prep work seems to be over. I spend the Sunday prepping for week 3. Cross your fingers I'm having a flashback as I type.
Week 3 here we go....She starts waiting on me to walk to class...People listen....Me walking with her is like Buster Douglas knocking down Mike Tyson...It's not supposed to happen. The week is going by then one night I find myself sitting out on the steps with her. I want to hold her hand but I've never been down this road before...She's smiling at me, I'm cheesing at her. We are talking then she says, Is there something you want to SAY TO ME....I'm a old married man now but of course now I know she wanted me to kiss her....16 year old shy me knew algebra 2 quite well but not this. I fumble, I stumble, I trip over my words and nothing happens.Damnit...I was thinking all this planning and I couldn't get out one word. I was upset with myself but I said thats okay. Tomorrow I will kiss Tori and things will be great...
Well People I woke up the next morning, I'm looking for her...SHE IS GONE....do you HEAR ME...GOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNEEEEE. She had a family emergency and left that same night. Never got a chance to tell her all my feelings and get that smooching in... all because I didn't pull the trigger. it's funny now cause that was 20 years ago but moral of the story is don't wait. Go for it Go for it. Especially if are prepared like I was. Yeah it's good to have a plan but a plan and you dont take action....You could wind up spending the next 6 months kicking yourself. Learn from 16 year old Tony.
