Apreciados amigos, apreciadas amigas:
En un momento en el que está tan de moda hablar de "reducción del espacio de la sociedad civil" y el tema se debate incluso en la UE, es más oportuno que nunca que nos planteemos, desde los movimientos progresistas, qué significa el concepto y algunos de sus problemas inherentes. Y es que no se está reduciendo del mismo modo el espacio de todo el mundo.
¿Podría ser que esa “reducción del espacio de la sociedad civil” no sea más que una forma contemporánea de hablar sobre los problemas de exclusión y represión que han padecido durante mucho tiempo un gran número de movimientos sociales, políticos y por los derechos civiles?
Os invitamos a leer estas reflexiones, a compartirlas en vuestras redes y a que nos hagáis llegar vuestros comentarios con el objetivo de enriquecer el debate.

El activismo individual y colectivo es blanco de una ofensiva global lanzada por Estados, grandes empresas y la derecha extrema. La metáfora de la “reducción del espacio de la sociedad civil organizada” se ha generalizado para hacer referencia a toda una nueva generación de restricciones a la lucha política. Sin embargo, es necesario deconstruir esta narrativa y poner al descubierto algunos de los problemas inherentes al concepto.
