Dear Friend,

Discover our new essay series, "A Focus on Palestine – Illustrated Longreads." Spanning 6-7 in-depth pieces to be released over the coming months, this collection aims to illuminate the complex and multifaceted struggle for justice in Palestine. The series will explore Palestine through the lenses of anti-imperialism, feminism, anti-racism, and environmental justice, situating it within the broader history of global anti-colonial movements.

In the first essay, "Framing Palestine: Israel, the Gulf States, and American Power in the Middle East," TNI research fellow Adam Hanieh presents an alternative approach to understanding Palestine – one that is framed by the wider region and the Middle East’s central place in our fossil fuel-centred world.

Meanwhile loss of life, displacement and humanitarian emergency are deepening. In this commentary, Naing Lin analyses the latest state of conflict, how the political narrative has changed, the dangers of communal separation, the scale of humanitarian suffering, and need for peace for all peoples in the struggle for Arakan freedom.
