This special online conference in Kagarlitsky’s honour will address the double aspect of his contribution: his wide-ranging analysis of the left’s dilemmas in the face of multiple global crises and the advance of the far right; and his resistance — together with other persecuted anti-war activists in the Russian Federation — to the authoritarianism of the regime of Vladimir Putin.


10 - 12 October: ‘Green’ industrial policy challenges and perspectives for Latin America in the framework of the global energy transition

 

This international seminar is organized by the Amsterdam-based Transnational Institute (TNI) in collaboration with the GreenPaths/European Knowledge Hub on Just Transition Pathways project and the GRIP-ARM/Green Industrial Policy project from the European Research Council. It also involves the Postgraduate Programme in Political Sociology at the Universidade Candido Mendes in Brazil.


19 October: People's Global Day of Action to Dismantle Corporate Power 


On October 19th 2024, social movements, trade unions, Indigenous Peoples, scholars, members of parliament, and communities affected by corporate crimes will gather in Geneva, at the doorstep of the United Nations, to consolidate a global front centring life over corporate power and impunity.

Through this form, social movements across the globe are invited to participate remotely in the action in Geneva.
