Dear Friend,

In this month, we explore pressing global struggles, from border imperialism in the Maghreb to community resistance against extractivism in Ecuador.

Additionally, we highlight crucial discussions on Palestine and the effectiveness of the BDS movement, featuring Francesca Albanese’s insights on historical injustices and Omar Barghouti’s analysis of Israel’s brain drain and global boycotts.

Lastly, we take a closer look at the political turmoil following the implications of the 2024 elections and the start of Trump’s second term in an in-depth interview with TNI associate Arun Kundnani by Verso Books.

Our research explores the history, politics, and violence of border-making in the Mediterranean and North Africa, focusing on Algeria, Libya, Morocco, and Tunisia. The report also examines resistance to border imperialism, drawing on anti-colonial, pan-African, and Third Worldist traditions to envision community beyond imperialist capitalism.
