Many existing inequities would be amplified – with a disproportionate impact on the most vulnerable people, particularly in the Global South.



We pivoted much of our work in 2020 to addressing the politics of the COVID-19 crisis. Helping to bring the analysis of leading progressive thinkers and movement leaders to a global audience through our COVID Capitalism webinar series. Notably 58,786 people from more than 138 countries engaged with the sessions.

The 5Rs in Myanmar
This primer is about ‘the 5Rs’ and land and natural resource politics. The 5Rs is a set of five principles: Recognition, Restitution, Redistribution, Regeneration, and Representation/Resistance. The primer briefly explores the idea of a working people’s program on land and natural resources in Myanmar based on these five principles in the context of a future federal democratic system.

The Energy Charter Treaty constitutes an obstacle to the clean energy transition and must be ended. We, the undersigned civil society organizations, are calling on political leaders across all European countries to prioritise climate policies, to stick to their climate commitments, and therefore to initiate withdrawal from the Energy Charter Treaty (ECT) by COP26 at the latest.

Information on an EU Commission proposal that has been leaked to the signing organisations shows once again how undemocratic EU trade policy can be. Indeed, the EC is proposing to split the EU-Mexico Global Agreement in three parts: Political and Cooperation; Investment agreement; and Trade Agreement. Splitting the agreement will allow for faster ratification by greater democratic deficit: the parliaments of the member states will not be asked for approval of the trade part of the agreement anymore.
